#MarchMysteryMadness One book and one short story
My #MarchMysteryMadness has not been very good. Actually the whole month was quite poor in terms of reading with only two books finished, one of wich was 4.50 from Paddington by Agatha Christie. I finished Marple by Mark Aldridge in January and loved it so much that decided to re-read all the Miss Marple's by chronological order. I love all the Marple's, but thi ... ⌘ Read more****

Before social media, where did people find book recommendations?
Penguin Random House asked the following question on the social network Threads: before social media was a thing, where did you find your book recommendations? I went through the comments, choose the most mentioned categories (library, bookstore, etc.) and count them. At the time of counting, I considered 168 comments with 269 answers (some people answered more than one place). Bookish crochet
One of my favourite crochet things to do is a granny square, I thing they are really versatile. They are quick to make, and then you can joined them together in what form you want. One can make a cover for a mobile phone, using a thicker yarn we can make a cover for a tablet, or a paper book cover.

For today's #murdereverymonday "title which includes a sound a human can make", I have:
- You can die laughing by A.A.Fair
- A far cry by Fredric Brown
- The laughing fox by Frank Gruber
I think I never read anything by the last two: With some exceptions I think I avoid American crime fiction because I have this idea they're more violent, not sure if I'm being fair. Do you think I should try one of these?

Happy #PublicDomain Day 2025 – Classic & Golden Age Crime Fiction Edition
We celebrate Public Domain Day every 1st of January. Although copyright is important, Public Domain is paramount for creativity and access: not only Public Domain constitutes an important pool from where new authors can create new works, but also is an opportunity to publish long forgotten works. A bunting using Europeana’s Resources #WomenReading #CulturalHeritage
Early this week, Europeana's Advent Calendar showed how to do a bunting using images from cultural heritage resources. Check Day 16 here. So, I thought I tried to do something similar. One of features Europeana's website is that allows you to create an account and from there you can create collections by searching what you want and then added them.

Fix a broken tile with #CulturalHeritage
I have shared this year's Advent Calendar by Europeana, where they give us ideas to reuse public domain artworks. So, I thought I would add an idea I made some years ago. We had several broken tiles in our bathroom, but one of them was particularly bothering me: it had some holes with paste quite visible. I though I could hide them with a technique called decoupage, where you glue paper onto objects.
