i think india is actually the source of written religions. seriously, the tripitaka is so gigantic (50 volumes) that it hasn't been completely translated *until this day* (acessintoinsight.org summarizing it with the words “if you want to read the whole tripitaka, you'll have to learn pali”), and i can't find a description of how long the vedas are (except the 20379 mantras figure on wikipedia, which would be ~10,000 pages judging from the length of a mantra in the incomplete pdfs i've found online). a shelf copy of the mahabharata takes up 10 volumes~
