I really hate old cheap hardware. I have an old WiFi repeater from a no name brand. I just cannot figure out, how to reset it.
@carsten usually it's a matter of finding a small hole somewhere that's usually the reset button and holding that in while powering it on.

If it's a plug-in repeater than you should have ~3 seconds to hold the reset button for ~10 seconds.

There should also be LED indicators to show you what it's currently doing.
