I learned about the existence of Bass Ukuleles a while ago, but I didn’t realize how ridiculously huge the strings look on these things. 🤣 Look at the tuning pegs!

@movq woah, they sure are ridiculously thick! Wow!

@lyse Lol, no, I won’t get one of these. 😁 I already have two basses, which is one too many, but couldn’t resist …

@movq That's really freak'n cool 😎 🎸

@movq Cool, thanks. I don't really hear any difference between the red and the black strings. It actually just sounds like a bass to me, not really ukulele-esque. But I'm terrible at telling those kind of things apart. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯_

@lyse The red strings are much “brighter”, they have more pronounced higher overtones. Is that better? Probably mostly personal preference. Will you hear it in a mix? Most likely not. 🥴

Listen to the sample starting at 7:55 where she plays without an amp. That does sound a lot like a Ukulele to me. 😁 But yeah, when played through an amp, not a lot of that feeling is left.

@movq 7:55 still reminds me more of a bass than a ukulele. ;-) But yeah, nice inventions. And even cooler if there are people out there, who can use them properly. :-)
