What I've heard and wouldn't find hard to believe, is that the algorithm and platform in general is over-designed to appeal to as many people as possible, so in case of politics, it's letting the leftoids report the right, than rightoids get removed, making leftoids feel like Twitter is on their side.
Then it lets the rightoids ban-evade, so they can feel like they're fighting the system and can live out their pretend revolution fantasies.
