legs were heavy, tight, and tired. with that said i had a great rest yesterday and pulled off the quickest fartlek this block without too much effort.

still host and humid (no surprise) but more cloud cover today. no kids but beth came and was able to cheer me on in a couple of places which was fun. the last bit she yelled "five to go!" which kind of got in my head a bit, albeit i think the heat started to get to me as well. had to take a couple of brief walks just to recollect and focus again. pretty good training run. keeping it in the green for the most part and around marathon pace. can't wait to see how cooler weather and more training will pay off!

ran with ace. she did great with only a couple of walk breaks. definitely had me working hard! pretty cool to run on the rowdies field, too!

brutally hot and humid. body was fine for the most part but it definitely had my HR high. saw ray on the course pacing someone and talked to him for a bit which was a nice break. i felt good about the run even though it was exhausting. took me quite a while to cool down afterwards.

pretty average. at about 2 miles in my right knee hurt a bit but i corrected my form and it went away. the last mile (or after the hill really) i pushed it a bit to see if i could sustain around what i thought was an 8:00 pace.

early morning due to gymnastics meet today. did three four mile loops and one three miler. nice chill to the air and felt pretty good overall. the last mile was probably the hardest but that was more mental than physical.

right calf is still a bit tight from the charlie horse. body felt fine otherwise although a bit tough to breathe with the humidity. wore the new mach 5s that came a few days ago and they were a bit tight.

mmm, enjoyed it. at 0100 this morning i woke up to my right calf seizing (not sure if that is the right term). when i finally got up at 0500-ish to prep for the run it was still tight (still is hours later) but stretching helped out a bunch. do not think it affected the run really though. that or i just did not care because i was enjoying the low humidity too much.
