Data sovereignty in today’s information age is ever so important that it has ever been before.
@stats does anybody think we should update the daily stats bot to show the number of cashed Twts, Twt Blogs and archives Twts over time? πŸ€”
@off_grid_living so did I! I worked all day at my day job and I was up till 1 AM working on Twtxt 😁 I’m exhausted ! πŸ₯±
@dooven Good luck with that
Yawn 😴 Man am I tired! β˜•οΈx1
Oh before I go to bed... 😴 In case anyone that uses Twtxt.net (_this platform_) is interested; please have a read through [Threaded / grouped replies and reactions (likes)](https://github.com/jointwt/twtxt/issues/169) _carefully_ and if you have some feedback/opinions, please share them! πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ (_it's mostly about reactions/likes/whatever/etc, we already group Twts into "Conversations"_).
@hjertnes Like to block and filter our your colleagues?! 🀣
@eli_oat Good question! πŸ€” What _do_ you do? πŸ˜€
@lukem Oh wow! 😲 I'm sl glad I shared it then! (_And on Twtxt of all places!_) πŸ€—
@lukem Here's the video reporting his death after he attempted to take off on his latest rocket, only to have it fail and he plummeted to his death. What a waste of human life 😒
@lukem Nah I meant this guy) "Mad Mike Hughes" πŸ˜€
@lukem reminds me of that guy that had a video documentary made about him that recently died a few years ago! It’s all very weird πŸ˜‚
I reverted c996869 in 37e24f0 -- No need to make things worse just to fix a "minor" linking problem (_Github issue comments_). We'll work out a better/different way to improve #hashtag(s) πŸ˜€ (cc @dooven)
@dilbert As long as they get paid 🀣
@prologic test 2
Test
Oops did I break tags?
@felixp7 (re gopher server) Yes perhaps the feeds could be!
@eveningwear Cute 🐨
@eveningwear I do! 🀣
@eveningwear (re gopher server) I _actually_ write a Gopher library as the very first thing I wrote in Go! 🀣 You _can_ use it to write servers, like gopher://gopher.mills.io/
@eveningwear No problems! I was just testing something and fixed it πŸ˜‚
@lukem Rightio 😁
@dooven πŸ‘ Very nice!
@off_grid_living At 4 AM?!
@lukem It would help to know what your building And what are the use case is etc.
@felixp7 Agreed!
@koehr I _feel_ great! Thank you for ask'n! 🀣 Life is awesome, beautiful family, lovely home, food on the table, things to do! What more could you ask for in life for a Monday? 😎
@lyxal see https://twtxt.net/blog/prologic/2020/09/02/where-have-my-twts-gone
@lyxal Haha! Archived! Say my blog post on it 😁
@lyxal that amazes me too! That’s why the default for the backend software is 288 and this particular pod is configured at 576 😁
@zobi8225 there is in fact a command-line client written in Go at the same project source code on Github! However you are also welcome to use the API which is documented at dev.twtxt.net
@lukem Ahhh gotcha! I look forward to being able to follow it directly here!
@lukem Haha! Reached the peak of your career? 😁 maybe it’s time for a change! πŸ€”
@lukem @zobi8225 hello! Welcome to TWTXT ! 😎
By the way in case it’s not obviously clear every person from every walk of life and every background is more than welcome to join here and participate in meaningful conversations and share interesting things with one another! πŸ€—
@lukem You’re lucky!
@lukem Hah! I really loathe Atlassian software, I have a tendency to be so over complicated to use makes you just want to cry! 😒 then again of course they nearly bought every piece of software and service offering so πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
@off_grid_living wow that’s over 180 mΒ³! That’s an impressive spice 😁
@lukem doesn’t it already have an RSS/atom feed? You can just add this to feeds.twtxt.net 😁
@dilbert Hah! 😁
@lukem What?! Did you just select all Mark as Read archive?
@felixp7 Thank you ! πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ
@lyxal Hmmm good question πŸ€” The logical answer of course is because your body goes into a fever to fight the infection or virus, but it is strange that we call it a β€œcold”
Its related to this issue
Bitten by the hashtag regex but that turns messes with links to individual Github issue comments πŸ€” Haven't figured out how to fix this yet!
@dooven ☝️ 🀣
@slashdot Hello Twtxt / Twt.social 😎
@lyxal Haha yes I know πŸ˜‚
@felixp7 @twtxt oh! It was supposed to link to a Github comment, maybe I stuffed up the link. I’ll see if I can go back and correct it shortly. Thanks for pointing this out! πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ
Also you don’t need an account on the Dev pod and at some point we will improve the situation so that you only need an account on a single pod throughout the network!
@felixp7 @twtxt broken in what way? It works for me! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ“·
πŸ“£ FYI: One of the bugs I fixed for Twt Blogs, was to automatically handle the DOS newline endings \\r\\n to UNIX newline endings \\n. This one simple change _should_ fix how Twt Blogs are rendered! (_d'uh_). I also went into (_manually_ the Pod storage for this pod and fixed any pre-existing Twt Blog posts after the fact. Thank you! πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ\n2020-09-07T04:12:01Z\t(#https://twtxt.net/search?tag=viiknnq>) @felixp7 very cool! 😎
πŸ’‘__Note to self: Write a follow up Twt Blog post to this one. Good title (_I think_):\n\n> What digital data you are willingly giving up
@prologic @hirad @twilightsparkle I also fixed a _few other bugs_ 🀞
@hirad @twilightsparkle You're welcome! πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ
Yes that is excellent news indeed! Can't wait to see your new place!
@kt84 ☝️
Just came across a static site generator (_and Github project_) that just released support for Twtxt! Very cool! 😎
New Blog Post Amazon's deal with Vector will let it see inside your home through your electricity meter by @prologic πŸ“
πŸŽ‰ NEW: You will now find you can Edit your own Twt Blog posts if you need to go back and makeamendmentss. πŸ€—
@hirad @twilightsparkle You can now edit your own blog posts.
@hellson Where to?
@off_grid_living Surely it’s going to take you longer than a day to build it?
@slashdot I wanted to post but I could not (_apparently anonymous posting is disabled on /.?_) Anyway... I was also going to ask "Who hates OOP? Serious question...." And then I read this comment which hits the nail right on the head! Let me paraphrase:\n\n- No one hates OOP\n- It has it uses as originally intended\n- There are other useful paradigms too\n\n"Keep calm and storm on!" πŸ˜€_
@prologic @twilightsparkle PR 171 adds support for editing Twt Blogs.
@twilightsparkle Soon!
@dilbert ahahahaha πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@twilightsparkle Thank you I'll have a read! πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ
Hmmm I'm having trouble understanding any of this. I need a page on the syntax/grammar of 1+? Is there one?
@twilightsparkle Oh wait hold on! I haven't actually read your Twt Blog post yet! I'm too busy trying to add the "Edit" feature so you can go back and edit a pre-existing Twt Blog post 🀣
@twilightsparkle Sorry I'm confused, improved about what? There are lots of things that _could_ be improved! πŸ˜€
@twilightsparkle You mean sad like nobody cared about my work on Monkey Lang 🀣
I would also _personally_ love it if we saved a draft of a new Twt Blog in local storage (_just one at a time_) so you can start writing and come back later to keep writing and eventually publish it.
@hirad In fact if you're familiar with Go you are more than welcome to contribute this enhancement! πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ
@hirad Ahh yes! I'll try to add this feature tonight (_in a few hours from now_)! πŸ˜€
Group email sent (_got your email from your website_). 🀞
Yes this is what we did too :) I'll send a group email so we can swap no.(s) We also used email to do key verification as its a little hard to fly over and meet each other right now! 🀣
@lukem There's also a HackMD Team as well but that's less important (_the docs are also in our Github org_)
@lukem It’s actually a Signal group so let me know if you have Signal set up already so we can add you! I think everything else you’re part of is all good 😁
@eveningwear Test 😁
@slashdot @annekemp This is the article on the COVID-19 analysis the world's 2nd largest super computer did regarding ACE2 cells in the human body. Have a read and let me know what you think πŸ˜€
@hirad (re Logged out) Hmm that is a bit odd. Are you sure your session just hasn't expired? Next time you login try checking "Remember Me" which will persist your session more permanately.
@hirad Ahh very nice!
FYI: Merged and rolling out to all pods shortly...
@dooven Yes it will.
@dooven Id does now (_as of a few days ago!_) 🀣
@prologic And it did so I'm merging and rolling this out. Which also fixes "paging" on external feeds (_which was apparently broken and yet no-one noticed?!_)
About to rollout a _complete refactor_ of external feeds, external feed profiles and external avatars. Just waiting to see if my local dev instance fixes the 404 Not Found on external avatars now that the entire scheme has changed.
@lukem Same here, -except_ mine will sadly be in "English" 🀣_
@lukem I _got_ tired of finding the "Post" button πŸ˜‰
@lukem ACK
Q: Does anyone use Ctrl+Enter to post their Twts? πŸ˜€
@lukem Hah! Deal, you deal with React and JavaScript stuff I’ll deal with reliability 🀣
@eveningwear this is one reason I love my Plex setup so much.
So this just prints a pattern of ones and zeros?
Hey @twilightsparkle @hirad you could’ve just created another food rather than having to have and manage two different accounts. 😁
@lukem Haha 🀣 this is why I’m likely never to learn React! It’s too complicated for what it really does πŸ˜‚
@off_grid_living Happy Fathers Day! πŸ€—
Hello @buckket πŸ‘‹ Welcome back! Glad to see your feed is working again! πŸ€—
