@mutefall I'd you look at /feeds and scroll down to "External Feeds" you'll see where they're pulled in and you can follow them from there.

@carsten It actually depends on individuals usage and the client feature they have. For example every morning when I wake up I go back to where I was last at in my timeline and read and respond in reverse chronological order until I catch up 😆

@movq @sdk We will be working on a spec for encryption and signing -- There is at least a draft spec in progress -- Needs more eyes on it, but we're basing it on the use of Saltpack

@mutefall yeah for bare-metal using Terraform is a bit tricky. However you can still use Packer to build your OS images and PXE + DHCP + TFTP to do automated bare metal provisioning

@mutefall I agree 💯 And we already do this via feeds.twtxt.net -- At least the structure is in place for writing more bots and automated feeds 👌

@thecanine Yeah you make some good points -- On rethinking this maybe an NGO structure might work better? 🤔

@sdk It won't work mate -- There is no formalized spec for this and no consensus around signing a feed.

@mutefall What is this something I actually strongly believe in. Not only is decentralize social media crate for human social interactions, but I also believe non-biased and factual news can be spread around the world this way to.
The only problem that I say however is that there's no financial incentives in this matter, but is that really a problem?

@mutefall Ansible you say eh? 🤔 i've moved away from configuration management systems that basically lead to infrastructure that is eventually consistent, some thing I don't really like and it's hard to reason about. My tools of choice currently are Terraform, Packer and my own shops[1] -- For me it's important infrastructure has state and is reasonably modular enough that you can reason about it with ease.

@mutefall I concur with the sentiment. Having just gone through three days of flash flooding around Brisbane and worrying about our own heart, I can tell you for absolute certainty that the only reliable source of news was it's off social media and Word of mouth between friends and colleagues.

@mckinley Interesting... Why do we think we don't need two of them? 🤔

So in Australia we have two major problems. And we're far too small for comparison to work 😢

@david And the problem you describe is corporations that "bribe" the prevailing party making most state owned and run organizations useless.

@david I realize what you're saying ... But the problem here in Australia is news and media had but one monopoly organization: Murdoch media.

@novaburst I mean I totally get the nostalgia here but otherwise this is pretty fucking useless.
From the screenshots and for duptuon of the "emulated behavior" you're basically just crafting a worse user experience on what is essentially one of the better OS(es) around 🤦♂️

Is it just me or does anyone else think Journalism should be a state owned and paid for service?
You know.. Without bias or corporate BS
Our Taxes should pay for quality, non-biased news.

This is such a load of bullshit!
This stupid news and media bargaining code should never have been passed through the house.
What a Joke 🤦♂️ News in Australia is now basically Murdoch's narrative.

It does make sense and there's a couple of ways you can do this 👌I shall respond in more detail a bit later when I can. But suffice to say a redirect will work fine, you may need or want to customize your Fred's preamble (the comments / metadata at the top) and finally supporting a proper first-class -S / --single-user mode 👌 Maybe you can help me build this out? 🤔
