Is it gauche to name the hero of a show Yuta or does it only become gauche once a different character makes a Yuta / Yusha pun? Asking for a friend. (Gridman / Chuu2byo)

'Worse is better' is not a justification -- it is a tragedy, and one that folks who code in their free time are thankfully immune from needing to contribute to. So, y'know, don't. You're not on a deadline, so make something good, instead of something you regret.
'Worse is better' is a very insidious way of saying 'give up and stop caring', and should never be used as an excuse for anything. Anything that can be defended with 'worse is better' is worse & shouldn't be tolerated.
Pet peeve: when people nitpick rhetorical flourishes in my examples while completely ignoring the main point. Hint: If I bring up the web or the macintosh, that doesn't mean my essay is specifically about the web or the macintosh.
