Kunihiko Ikuhara gave you mice. He gave you penguins. He gave you bears. And now, in spring of 2019, he's bringing you kappa.

Because it won't work with chromecast, Shudder TV is ironically the only Shudder feature that you can't use on a TV
Princess Melty Mallomar should be fighting Alita Queen of Mars alongside her platonic childhood friend Chip Nougat for control over the Nestleflowne
This Very Serious grimdark fantasy about the war for monarchical succession between sisters *checks notes* Malty and Melty Melomarc. You sure you weren't just hungry for a candy bar bro?

It's one thing to admit that desired behaviors need to be incentivized, & another not to treat this necessity as a problem. We incentivize children's deeds with the expectation that they will grow up to have their own moral compass.
The essays I'm considering writing are all somewhat clickbaity: "A libertarian case for social justice", "Anarchy needs rules"...
My buddy Dan Comstock went on a podcast to promote his upcoming GOAT LARP, a LARP where you LARP as the people running a LARP for goats (who are being RP'd by actual goats) http://www.onarollpodcast.com/211

Hot take: every product or service Google cancels, they should open source. If Google doesn't want to run it, they shouldn't keep anybody else from running it instead.
Your periodic reminder that disco is fantastic & overblown anti-disco sentiment is *mostly* thinly-veiled homophobia
Today in Shield Hero: Magical Deepfake
The new anime season is so weird. A bunch of harem shit (yay) but all of it is short episodes (wut)
disinfo never dies. I ran into somebody the other day who thought LSD stayed in your spinal fluid permanently & caused flashbacks -- despite *definitely* not being alive when that BS was last seriously floated.

Don't Be Afraid is a fantastic album, & it's not hurt by the fact that every track other than Ozar Midrashim & The White Roses sounds the same -- instead this is thematically appropriate.

The moment I decide to get serious about something, that's when all progress on it stops :(

A depiction, if rich enough to be interesting, is bound to have internally contradictory potential interpretations. You control the frame, but the frame can't be as tight as in (say) an essay.
If one intends to be understood, one must be careful not to be too clever: a reader will calibrate their cleverness based on their expectation of yours, & any mismatch is liable to produce misunderstanding.
What's the difference between poetry and prose? I'd say that with prose, one aims to constrain the set of possible meanings as tightly as possible to minimize misunderstanding. Poetry has the richness of possible meanings that direct experience has.
Hot take: language is like sculpture, in that each word acts as a constraint that cleaves off parts of the infinite space of possible meaning.

If you're a writer & you don't read, your readers will notice (even if you don't). And those of them who read will start to dwindle away...
Day by day I get closer and closer to being the guy who sea-lions strangers about how the USSR wasn't communist. I don't want to be this guy. Please help me not be this guy, by learning it on your own.
Bad idea of the day: a soap opera that is also a space opera AND a rock opera
hot take: any apparent non-agent capable of outside revision is, implicitly, part of an agentitive system whose goal is its continued existence
Bad idea of the day: vending machine art project that takes bills & sets them on fire as you watch through a little window

We need a third Captain Marvel who's literally just Jack Parsons.
