For some _reason_ or another I can't quite work out why the default avatars (_we use identicons if you don't upload a custom avatar for your account aren't displaying correctly on my iPhone on Mobile Safari Hmmm ๐ค\n2020-08-26T03:51:46Z\t๐ And this is why I love being an SRE ๐ I _managed_ today to reduce the cost of running Twt.social pods like Twtxt.net by as much as 1/5th ๐ฒ #sre ๐ท

@eli_oat (re Twtxt Config) ...deal with for machines (_and humans somewhat_) so it would be better if we also agreed upon a standard config.yml or config.yaml (_whichever ext you prefer_) similar to avatar.png that other Twtxt clients like twtxt.net _can find_ and do interesting things with like "Oh you like to be called so and so, great!".
@eli_oat (re Twtxt medium) Yeah that's just the thing, I love that too! But of course there's no reason a "smart" client can't interpret the text as "Markdown" for example, which we do on twtxt.net and all Twt.social pods; and things like a standard Avatar and standard Config just make things a whole lot nicer. I'll talk about the standard Config next when I've had a chance to review what we've done there with @hjertnes ๐ In the past we'd just use those key/value pairs as comments at the top of your feed, but tbh that was never standardized and is kind of hard to...

@eli_oat (re twtxt front matter) if by "Front Matter" you means // key = value comments at the top of you your filek, then no it won't. Most (_if not alll?_) clients will simply ignore this, including twtxt.net -- The real question is whether we can build up the community enough to a point where we can reach consensus on a standardized scheme for this so-called key/value pair(s) we call commented out "front-matter"_

๐ฃ FYI: Some of you that are local users on this pod _may_ have noticed that there are now Avatars for _some_ external feeds (_that we can detect avatars/logos for_); You _may_ have also noticed that your own Avatar _may_ not be working quite right now and has reverted to the old auto-generated one. Fear not, just re-upload a new one! The reason for this is uploaded media/avatars are now even better and faster, but it makes no sense to fix the old avatars/media content. ๐โโ๏ธ

I've learned a lot of programming languages over the years, but one class of languages I have never truly wrapped my head around are the "Pure" Functional Languages and especially the S-expression style ones like the LISP(s). Just drop _any_ website's URL into the box and hit "Add" and we'll work out automagically if we can find a valid RSS/Atom feed for it and turn into into a twtxt feed for consumption here (_or any valid twtxt client_)! ๐

Sadly I forget what this house is called, however this was taken in Dublin city in Ireland. Itโs a very beautiful house with a very beautiful manicured lawn and hedge! 
Ahh I love it when performance is measured, analysed then fixed! See these before and after shots! You can clearly see what the p95/p99 performance was overall before I attempted to fix it, which failed, then realised what I'd done wrong and fixed it proper in the very clear drops in p95. The p99 spikes to ~4s I suspect are coming from the postHandler() and the new webmentions feature.

I like it ๐ I also agree with @antonio that calling any particular version of a mobile app "official" is a bit pointless, we should document the protocol, the spec (_done_), but I see no reason why there aren't be more than one "web app" (_perhaps bundled with the software and user-chosen which ones is used_), etc.
@antonio @dooven (re Flutter App functionality) I have no opinion either way either, as I can already see "alternative" web apps / interfaces being built too (_perhaps not be me, but nevetheless_). I _think_ our main goals should be to get a solid API going, Pod management and a decent working Android/iOS app of some kind!
