This year #Hacktoberfest is planting trees again to contributors, so I did my share and got my tree planted! 🙂

The t-shirt giveaways are back again, but once you win it and it's time to collect you'll learn that to do so you need to accept the "final holopin badge", and I've been ignoring those as I have no interest in having an #holopin account again. There is no information about whether the t-shirt is going to be sent from the US (as happened in the past) or elsewhere (for those who want to know in advance and avoid needing to have to pay customs for it). The way to communicate with them (I'd like to ask!) seems to be via discord, and to enter their discord you need to go through a privacy-invasive age verification process I don't want to go through 😞 ![Certificate No.: 8269753 Hacktoberfest gifted to Marcos M. 1 Tree Total CO2 offset: 50 Kg Tree Birthday: 18/10/2025 Location: United States Region’s state of biodiversity: California Wildfire Season (recent years): - 2023 California Wildfire Season: According to statistics published by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), as of October 2023, a total of 6,001 fires have burned a total of 317,191 acres (128,363 hectares). - 2022 California Wildfire Season: By the end of 2022, a total of 7,667 fires had been recorded, totalling approximately 363,939 acres (147,281 hectares) across the state. Wildfires killed nine people in California in 2022, destroyed 772 structures, and damaged another 104. The 2022 season followed the 2020 and 2021 California wildfire seasons, which had the highest and second-highest (respectively) numbers of acres burned in the historical record. The project’s main goal: Lost Forests Recovery in California VQS Score 69.1 59 % trees funded What is the project main objective: Our project focuses on restoring forests lost to recent wildfires in California. Wildfires are becoming more frequent and severe due to climate change, with rising temperatures and prolonged droughts following historically low rainfall. By replanting native trees and rehabilitating damaged ecosystems, we help these forests recover and build resilience against future wildfires.](https://media.ciberlandia.pt/ciberlandia-media/media_attachments/files/115/396/770/581/229/489/original/ae01c98e22a89e8c.png)
