@screem I am the wrong one to chime on this, as I donβt use them. The only reason I am replying here is because I find they take too much space, and are distracting as well.
I think your approach is better than current. Add some padding to the left (when filters are visible), and tone down that fly in/out that will make me dizzy, and you got yourself a winner!

Iβm usually a big fan of the fly in/out but perhaps the duration is too long, or not even necessary for good web design π€
