@prologic I think the count is a good addition. \n\nPerhaps making the bubble a more subtle colour would work. Seeing how big a conversation is at first glance is nice, and might even encourage participation.

@prologic I like it. I set it the same on my test pod, and it doesn't present the "urgency" the red one had. ๐

@fastidious It was dramatic, indeed. I completely felt like @darch, the red circles were too encroaching in my opinion, just like ads. Warning, click me! Fix me! You need to act now! Don't miss out! And all it was was an informational number. Especially since twtxt.net puts great stress on a calm and unagitated user experience with no push notifications and things like that, it just looked exactly like the opposite. Your blue version over on arrakis.netbros.com is a completely different deal, it fits much better but still raises too much importance on the number for my taste.

@prologic :-D Don't get me wrong, the idea isn't bad at all, maybe just needs slight tweaking. Like maybe showing the new unread twts in that conversation if you're logged in. But I think there's no concept of read/unread twts in yarnd, so well, probably won't work, but could be useful I reckon. It's just an appearance issue.
@prologic @lyse don't think the concept of red/unred exists on most platforms, but maybe it could be solved by the Timeline and Discover tabs having some splitter, dividing the "new stuff" from what was already there before you logged out. ๐ค

It also helps to follow automated feeds / bots like @tiktok to help break up your timeline and also when things get quite, you still know _everything is still working_ ๐คฃ

@prologic Bloody LOL, I've always avoided the tiktok feed thinking it had something to do with the shitty social media platform, just now I went and looked at the feed and realised it was for the time ๐คฃ
@prologic @thecanine The only problem with time-based approaches is that if a feed is down for some reason (or just not fetched in time) you might miss older twts you haven't seen. Depending on the use case that might even be a feature to ignore outdated content. In my client I just mark every twt read and the next time I start it, all fully read conversations will be hidden.

So I like to see all the old (missed) posts there.\nBut considering how this works and how much text based it is, it might not be the best option for art sharing, especially if people are sometimes looking in from outside of yarn.social. ๐ค

@darch Yeah this is the @sorenpeter feed and when I get around to building a "Gallery" view for the search.twtxt.net search engine as well as an integrated search into yarnd pods themselves, we'll have something very similar to this ๐
