how do you send SMS to a phone from your computer?
@off_grid_living If you're talking about your Android phone I gifted you, you _should_ be able to find an App you can install on your Windows Laptop that'll let you do exactly that. For example in the Apple ecosystem, I have an iPhone and iMac, both of which have an app called "Messages" tied to my Mobile phone number. I can send SMS(es) from both/either of them.

However depend on _whom_ you're wanting to send a message to, SMS is pretty old and outdated, not to mention completely insecure. If I can convince you to a) install Signal on your phone and b) get your friends/coworkers/etc to also get on Signal -- Then you'll enjoy the safety, privacy and security of e2e encrypted messages.
