I don’t understand the lifetime post limit. 100 seems really low. Even if I were to post something once a week, I still only get a little less than a couple of years out of the account. I don’t understand how that helps me post quality things. I mean I guess if I only posted two or three things a year I could get some longevity out of it, but that seems annoyingly infrequent. I might as well just mail everybody freaking letters at that point.
@brasshopper It's definitely too low. These gimmicky social media services don't last long. I remember one that would take two weeks or something to deliver messages. It was actually meant to mimic letters sent in the mail. I don't know why you wouldn't just send letters at that point, too. Last I checked, the postal service still works.

@mckinley @brasshopper i dont think is is meant to last long. Minus is an art project, do it not made to be used but to make you think.
https://bengrosser.com/projects/textbook/ <-- this one might be kinda useful though
@mckinley @brasshopper @darch Yeah, it's an art project, was my understanding too.
@darch Interesting! He certainly has some thought-provoking ideas.\n\nhttps://networkcultures.org/blog/2021/06/29/platform-realism/\n\nI've subscribed to his feed. :-)
@jlj any interesting ideas that are not worthy? (i’m still catching up on my feed from today 🤣)

@prologic :-) I really like the idea of platform realism (i.e., Big Tech is so big, we can't see solutions that don't involve them), as I said on my fedi account. :-) https://pleroma.nfld.uk/notice/AB8y9XsWnM4Sps0PRI
@jlj @prologic Actually, off the back of poking around DRW's site, I found what I think is a good example of these discussions with 'short horizons': https://pleroma.nfld.uk/notice/AB9CwXfXlFKvjZBpVw
@jlj Interesting read… I think this just exemplifies the need for taking back our voices and pushing for decentralized mediums again. I’m sure we can find a happy medium — a middle ground 🤔

@prologic Agreed!
@darch seems like self flagellation for liberal users of social media who won’t see the forest for the trees 😒
@jlj @mckinley @darch I guess I missed that it was an art project. In that case, 100 posts seems less crazy since said person probably doesn’t want to actually host the next Twitter.
