I hardly use my car since this covid thingy started, so I hardly noticed the gas prices going up recently. https://movq.de/v/9ad8e9b11d/sprit.png But what’s actually *more* interesting is how the price appears to have been “capped” at 1.6 EUR/l in the past. 🤔 I wasn’t really aware of that, either.

Maybe it’s just an illusion, I don’t know the first thing about gas prices and economics. 🤣

I drive electric, so completely unaffected. 😋
@fastidious Good luck, the price of electricity here is going up fast enough, that just this month or so we had 3 electricity suppliers here go bankrupt rather than keep proving it for the prices they agreed on with their customers.
@thecanine I am spending around $25/month on my Tesla's electricity bill. When I was driving a petrol car, it was $80/month. No complains here! ☺️
@fastidious That's good to hear, I only use public transport as a student, but I thought that electric cars were cool, until people started bringing up battery degradation, but if these rumors are falls and the batteries can last over 10 years, it'd definitely be something worth looking into for future car investments. Also even just as a flex to show people your sites while you're driving around would be so cool. 😂
@thecanine battery degradation will not be an issue here. We don't keep cars that long. 🤣
@thecanine \n> I only use public transport \n\nI wish I could use public transportation. Sadly, in my town is very poor, to the point of being considered pretty much non-existent. Many cities in the US are in the same predicament.
@fastidious $80/month ?! 😳 That’s what we spend a week!!! 😳

@fastidious over privileged “first world” problems 🤣

@prologic wow! I got my electric over a year ago. Right now petrol is more expensive, with the highest octane close to €4 a gallon (read dollars, not euros), so it would probably be more expensive now.
