Also guys, did you see the https://frame.work modular laptop?
@adi Looks interesting. I’m not as enthusiastic about the hack-ability of my hardware these days, though. I’m also quite fond of macOS. Perhaps Apple has warped my mind. 🤪
@brasshopper No sure why, Apple never caught on me, maybe I'll give it another go at some point.

@adi I used to be really into Linux. I didn't understand Apple until I was forced to use a mac for work every day. I think it mostly has to do with the fact that keyboard interactions seem to be more consistent between apps. Linux can get there but it requires more work. And I've had bad experiences with Windows with respect to keyboard interactions.
@brasshopper This _forced_ thing.... Not sure if _forced_ and _understanding_ can coexist in the same sentence.

@adi @brasshopper mac os uses emacs keybindings 😂
@adi @will I think you’re right about some things, but I don’t know how true that is outside of basic text stuff. I really don’t know a ton about emacs. I care about a consistent experience more than I care about specifics.
@adi perhaps Stockholm syndrome?
@brasshopper Sort of... ❤🔫

I've said this before and I'll say it again. I gave up on Linux on the Desktop (_or laptop_) decades ago when Canonical and it's Ubuntu destroyed the one and only viable full screen zoom and tool that worked (Compiz Fusion). Linux on the Desktop/Laptop for me is just utter trash, there are no good ways (_currently_) for any level of full-screen zoom and accessibility and no way to support high resolution (_what Apple call retina_) displays.\n\nmacOS it is for me -- I use it as a glorified Terminal + Browser. I don't use Apple apps or any of their "Cloud" services.
