@prologic Sure, I'd love to do that. I'm curious about who have done the Chinese translation, most of them are accurate and great, though some need to be discussed, for example:

yarn --> 纱 this translation is very strange and confused for Chinese people, yarn is hard to translate-_-||, but it's the most common word in yarn social, we need a good translation

fork --> 叉 maybe 转发 is a better translation

on the other hand, i'll try to understand the obstacles of Chinese nickname(maybe some discussion link for that?), that's essential for my friends, most of them are not used to English names even on the internet._
@jim We had contributors help with the translations corner none of us are actively development project have any experience with the Chinese language so we're sorry if anything is slightly in accurate 😆

Please feel free to contribute improvements and fixes as you see fit! 🙇‍♀️

And yes Yarn is a word in some English speaking countries that means to talk, or socialize, or tell stories. Perhaps you have a similar word in Chinese?

@prologic a yarning circle in Australian indigenous culture - “It is a place to talk, share, discuss, educate and have a yarn together, a place to build respectful relationships and a space to enrich learning experiences.” \n https://www.newcastle.edu.au/campus-life/central-coast/ourimbah/spaces-and-places/yarning-circle

I would hope yarn.social embodies these values.

@kt84 @prologic thanks for your explanation, I will discuss with my knowledgeable friends.

@jim 我们目前正在研究如何不将翻译嵌入到Yarn.social中。 将来做翻译会更容易!

We are currently working on how not to embed translations into Yarn.social. It will be easier to do translation in the future!

Used DeepL for this. Hopefully it’s somewhat accurate!
@ullarah Well embed the translation files into the resulting yarnd binary, but yes 😅 It's on our backlog!

@ullarah thanks for your advice, DeepL is cool and really helpful~ look forward to your unembedded elegant method for translation

My current job is mostly about java, so just learn a little go and goi18n and start to modify the active.zh-CN.toml file, hope that's the right file to modify🤣~
@ullarah with DeepL, ullarah your Chinese is better than me🤓
