@slashdot \n\n> W]hile portraying itself as a refuge for free speech and the "first major rival to 'Big Tech,'" TRUTH Social's terms of service make it clear that the platform not only intends to moderate content β just as Twitter and Facebook do β but reserves the right to remove users for any reason it deems necessary. The terms go on to say that if TRUTH Social decides to terminate or suspend your account, the platform may also sue you β something that Twitter and Facebook's terms don't say. "In addition to terminating or suspending your account, we reserve the right to take appropriate legal action, including without limitation pursuing civil, criminal, and injunctive redress," TRUTH Social's terms state...\n\nWOW! π³ π Why would anyone use this?! π€ π€¦ββοΈ

@slashdot @prologic What an ironic thing to have in your terms of service while dodging a lawsuit yourself (for violating Mastodons AGPLv3 license). π
@thecanine I know right π I just donβt get whatβs wrong with Trump π€¦ββοΈ This whole Truth social is a bit of a bad joke π€£

@prologic Yeah, maybe it's just saying the same thing as the sites like Parler did. That they'll just throw you (the poster) under the "legal bus" whenever someone tries to sue them for what you posted, but it's just worded poorly. π€ \nStill I wonder how they'd even find you to get you involved in that lawsuit, unless they'll also want you to scan your ID in exchange for having access to all the features like Parler does, which is probably one of the reason no sane people are on Parler. π

@slashdot Trump or no Trump, I just can't get excited about any new centralised 'silo' social media platforms. My hope is they go the way of the Dodo one day. Tall hope, I know.
