@mckinley I _actually_ write a version of ed that I _actually_ used (for a while) as my primary text editor. It is possible, and isn't really that bad. For me (because I'm blind anyway) navigating the "file" isn't that hard for me, I tend to have a better memory of the contents of the file naturally I guess...

@mckinley @prologic Nice article. I never had the guts to use ed. Now I wanted to try it, but was very surprised that I don't even have it installed on my current system. That must be a sign to better not dare.
@lyse Well you could clone and build mine, go get
'int it might even work 😅

@mckinley I read your blog post and I find your comments on navigating in the contents of a file particularly interesting… Do you think there would be a way perhaps to make that a little bit easier while still preserving the original intent of Ed itself? It would be something I wouldn't mind exploring myself 🤔

@prologic It's not my blog post, I just thought it was an interesting read.
I do enjoy using ed
sometimes. It forces me to keep lines short and markup concise.
@mckinley I I'm sorry I _thought_ it was yours 🤦♂️ All good! I actually do use my ed on a daily basis, I just don't use it regularly to edit large pieces of text (only small pieces)
