@novaburst @adi maybe novaburst is referring to the gargron fiasco (pick one)
@adi first, it's nothing but look-alike clones of corporate's social media, second, ActivityPub/whatever is a near suicidal task to implement right, third, fediverse software is usually found to be extremely complex, fourth, it got already infected by mainstream "culture"
@novaburst Don't think it looking like the corporate social-media is a bad thing, as long as it actually improves on that look and isn't ugly like post-redesign Twitter.
It getting kinda mainstream isn't a bad thing for me either, as that's kind of the goal. It needs more mainstream people to grow and become a real alternative to Twitter.
Though I wish it'd attract a different kind of audience, that isn't so happy to report/demand that anything they disagree with, has to be blocked for everyone.
