I find it really frustrating that most of the worldâs governments and most of the modern world are not prepared to do the âhard thingâ and the âright thingâ by just shutting down all economies for the next three months and just nip this particular pandemic and virus and every other plague that continues to spread across the globe in the butt! đ¤Ł
I mean in all seriousness we could wipe out every known pathogen known to man đ
Right?

@prologic Hold on a minute, werenât you down to basicaly zero infections? The graphs for Australia in Wikipedia are ridiculous compared to most other countries. And you *still* go into lockdown? Wow. đ˛ > >

@movq yep thatâs right! đ we seem to want to keep cases down to zero but yet we still somehow let returning Australian travelers back into the country (privileged assholes) back in, often from hot spots and we spread it all over again and rinse and repeat !

@prologic At least you have âzeroâ as a goal. Thatâs great! We have ⌠what do we have? @lyse, help me out. Whatâs our governmentâs goal? I forgot.

@adi @movq @lyse @prologic I personally have broken the restrictions and actually went to parties a few times, I don't feel bad about it. I'm not encouraging anyone to do that due to health and legal implications.

@adi Why would 0 be silly? Letâs try to reduce it as much as we can. And why do you go to parties?

@movq \n\n> Letâs try to reduce it as much as we can.\n\nThat's a better "goal". We still have, very rare, true, cases of bubonic plague tbh.\n\n> And why do you go to parties?\n\nGuess lockdown got me a little bit and I went out a few times.

@movq @adi For instance I have a friend who's going through a breakup this period. If breakups were bad outside the pandemic, they're way worse now that you can't go out.

@adi IMHO going to parties during a lockdown is reckless and selfish.
Zero should
be the goal of any pandemic capable pathogen. â Would you allow anti-virus software to only do half a job or only remove 99% of Virii allowing it to spread exponentially again?

@prologic Well that's her solution, it's a legally and health wise risky solution. Me sleeping at my parents is not great for my general well being either, but that's the current situation.

@movq It often looks like our government's goal is to hope on a miracle to magically sort this out for them.
@lyse @movq I then _hope_ to become at least prime minister, seems like I have a shot. đ
