@darch LOL! 🀣 I wasn't sure this was you until you chimed in πŸ˜‚ "punish" wasn't the right word, sorry, I apologize, but as @eldersnake rightfult pointed out, it's not really "punishing". The problem you've now introduced is the one and only **valid** use-case for such twts with a "future" timestamp. I'm not really sure how to deal with this though (_at least not right now_). I'm open to ideas. cc @lyse as the official spec writer πŸ˜…

@prologic I really don't have a problem with twts from the future. I just mark them read and the next time they will be hidden just as any other read twt. ;-) But to be fair I deal with time travelling twts only a couple of days now. Prior to my fix they just showed up when their time came.
@lyse Most clients don't have the "mark as red" option. I have yet to see it anywhere, so I he'd no idea it even existed, but I guess adding it to more clients could be a solution to his thing. πŸ€”
@lyse\n\n> ... I just mark them read...\n\nOoo, now that's the sort of killer feature that leads to adoption. πŸ€”πŸ˜‰
@thecanine @jlj The read status is one of the most important features, I couldn't live without it (was one of the first things I implemented). I know of two clients that support it: @movq's jenny/mutt combo and my tt (unfortunately still not yet ready for production use by others).
@lyse \n\nπŸ‘€ jenny, you say πŸ‘€\n\n😁 cc @movq
@jlj, @movq has all information about it on his website.

Hmm, not sure what happened there, but I was posting the twt and it wasn't showing. I blame it on the ongoing thunderstorm!
@lyse They will now show up on Yarn.social pods when the time comes too πŸ‘Œ

@lyse How could we implement a β€œread” status in Yarns’s web or mobile apps? πŸ€” I’ve though about this a bit and though keeping a marker or a mapping of hash -> seen as you scroll through could work πŸ€”

@prologic https://tildes.net marks all replies as unread until you reply or explicitly mark as read. A little gimmicky.
@adi weird 😁

@prologic i dont think we need a read status for Yarn. I would just add stress/angst like a t kind of notification. I much prefer the stateless nature of how yarn works now.

@darch Yeah I tend to agree with you there.

@darch I agree!
@darch Actually, that's a really good point. A **really** good point.\n\nHow did I not see that? :-)
It's like my instincts are all wrong. Social media has broken me: I'm like an addict, wanting that dopamine hit **everywhere**. πŸ˜‚\n\nSave me, Yarn.social, from myself! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜«
@jlj The point about the β€œread” status?

@jlj If you're looking for any "dopamine" effects on Yarn.social good luck finding any πŸ˜‚

@prologic Yeah, the read status. And, no, no, no more dopamine, please! πŸ˜‚
@prologic I don't think it is needed. Specially when twts often go in a rather disorganised sequence, and also fork. My 0.2 cents.
@fastidious Agreed
