Hey @eldersnake It's me, James Mills / prologic, For some reason I wasn't able to use my @prologic account so I registered @james instead, hope you don't mind π€
Long story short, we've lost power in the greater area, neighbors heard two loud "bangs" so we suepect a substation has failed. Man it's hot here too without A/C π₯΅
Anyway needless to say I'm unable to power the Mills DC without power, we don't expect power to be restored for hours at this point π’ Hopefully Yarn.social survives without me being decentralised et all π€

@fastidious Yeah this was pretty bad in terms of inconvenience, it was around ~2hrs50m of power loss. But the thing is, this was a freak accident. We've never seen this happen -- taking out the whole area for hours at a time due to what we heard as "transformer explosions" in over ~10yrs we've lived here. So... π€

@ullarah Yup I purchased a UPS some weeks ago! π
Thank goodness! But it was a bit of a panic, because I also lost power to the only other Ethernet wired workstation I had, my iMac. So I was in a bit of a spot of trouble. Gonna have to get another UPS just for my "office" to power my iMac. Running around frantically trying to figure out how to power one of our Wireless Access Points off of the UPS with some _unknown_ minutes to spare was not what I'd call fun π
