@kt84 Came across a very recent example of this "dopamine" effect you mentioned in your Twt Blog! This is what I got "alerted" to today whilst working via the beloved (_or loated?_) LinkedIn
What is interested to note here (_I cut out the author and who reacted_), is that the author gave himself a "♥️" reaction, many engineers gave it a "👍" (_but never replied_) and other executives, recruiters and management folks gave it a "♥️"._

@prologic @kt84 I've seen this very post in my feed but my conscience clause prohibits me to engage in controversial / unproductive threads on LinkedIn.

@prologic @kt84 @lukem \n\nMy understanding is Apple and Windows are OP that feed themselves differently to Binary, as File management systems. If you run both systems for a while and intentionally switch off the mains power supply, the Apple OP responds better to the outage, than does the Windows system. In this regard, you could say Apple OP is more bomb proof than say Windows OP. On another angle, the Windows OP is easier to learn, as it was educationally taught more across schools to young children. Hand out free OP systems or cheaper OP systems and guess what?

@off_grid_living Haha you mean OS
; but yes your points are very valid, even if that wasn't the point of the "Conversation"! It was more of an example of this so-called "Dopamine" effect we were talking about that is problematic with these so-called social media "Likes" / "Reactions". As much as we'd like to _believe_ they provide feedback/affirmation about one's own writing, they have the unfortunate real side effect of causing human psychological problems and are _actually_ bad for some people's health (_mental health_)!
