Lesson 272: Muay Boran "Break the Bird s Wing" (part 2)
In this version of the ancient Muay Thai 'break the bird's wing, we continue to apply this technique but with a different finish. Again, the initial move of grabbing your opponent's arm will have some resistance and it will be difficult to finish the break unless you continue to control the arm in a way where your opponent is rendered helpless. To do this, we must twist it in a 'chicken wing' position to put pressure on the shoulder and wrist. Added torque can be done by bringing your leg into a figure four position to secure your opponent.

NOTE: This is a self-defense move not for sparring. Here, your opponent is someone who overcommits their arm so you can grab. But if your opponent pulls their arm back then abandon this move and transition into something else.
