it's fully infuriating to realize that facebook genuinely has this solved
@maya FB only has this solved because it has more people on it. Fice Twtxt / Yarn.social time ☺️

what did you want to talk about anyway? 🤔

@maya I don't think Facebook would provide reliable answers to those questions, without effort. I don't think your use cases are a priority for most people these days, sadly. It's about search and directory facilities. I think Usenet and Dmoz came closer to solving this. Similar communities today are more fragmented, over IRC, Matrix, and traditional social media, I'd imagine.
I’m not even sure how you’d go about solving for such a use case in a decentralized platform like this 🤔

what is it Facebook got worked out? I seem to be missing the First post of thes conversation...
@darch @prologic @maya Ah i think i start to get it. but what is it facebook did to solve this issue?
@darch I'm not _really_ sure Facebook™ really _did_ anything per se to solve this. I _think_ it's more of. "network effect" more than anything. Maybe groups helps a bit? But we can come up with interesting ways to do similar things.... 🤔

@maya as @jlj said is very fragmented. maybe write some short blog posts about you thought on zine typesetting and the other cool stuff you mentioned. Facebook groups sadly almost killed of webforum, but unsure they are still out there.
https://groups.io/ might be an contemporary alterative. I have not really tried it out myself, but have considered trying to migrate some of the few Facebook groups I'm still a member of over here
it should have been "I'm sure" and not "unsure"...
