I think, I agree with this. But don't we write a blog/post/message not only for our self, but also for others to read?
@carsten Yes that's kind of the point of socialising online right? But what's your point exactly? πŸ€”

@prologic Yes it is. We all want to surround ourselves with interesting people, don't we? Sadly, not all of us get the chance to do that in the real world. You're tied to your family by blood, and while other people are your friends for a reason (meaning you should get on with them extremely well) that doesn't mean they'll have anything particularly exciting to say. And some of us want to be heard and read. That's why people write blogs in the first place, don't they?
@carsten I agree. That’s something it is missing in Yarn; more interesting people, more diverse set of interests and topics. I am yet to find an β€œalternative” social that combines and/or agglutinates more interests. They all seen to centre around the social itself (Mastodon, Pleroma, Yarn, etc), but very little outside of it. That is, a social network that talks mostly about itself.
@david I do see this, as I have another feed running, also as a bookmarking service and to get to know new people. And I always wanted something like this, I think. And you're right when it comes to the services itself. Most of them just talk about them self. So I like it here with you not only talking about the service itself.
@carsten having another feed/persona for bookmarking isn't too great without a search for it. I need to remind you that entries will drop off the cache also, and you will not see them until a proper search comes to life, or you increase the TTL of your cache.
Just use the bookmark button, that's what it's there for πŸ˜…

@david ok. didn't know that. When I do that, I paste the link and a couple hashtags and a short introduction text. When I need to search, I open the txtfile and search in there. Works so far as I have a bookmark in the bookmark bar. So it is cross browser and cross device :-)
