@abucci You were making a joke, but Iβd wager that many people actually respond like that. π βWhat, itβs like email? Full of spam?!β
Itβs a good analogy, though. Email is probably the one and only decentralized system that people are somewhat familiar with. π€

Shouldn't folks also be familiar with the decentralized Web too? π€

@prologic ideally yes, but there are a lot more 'normies' on the internet than people that actually know well things imho
@akoizumi I _think_ this is true of just about any non-trivial "tech" these days, for example cars.

@prologic Shut up! I know almost nothing about how to fix a 'modern' car... π
My father-in-law always claims to me the only thing I know about cars is how to turn them on.
Disclaimer: My FIL's father was a car technician, and he worked in his father's workshop Β―\_(γ)_/Β―_

I try to be empathetic with people knowing way less than me (I have like 30 years of using computers in an intense fashion)
And bringing an old conversation to the digital table, as we need training and to have licenses for cars, I think it's dangerous that anyone can have electronic devices without enough training or regulations. Especially on matters of crime and personal information leaks.π
@eaplmx Haha π€£ But it's so true right π
it's nothing to do with "tech", it is everywhere. As we build more and more complicated "things" we lose our understanding of how anything _actually_ works π
-- We (as a human race) would be so royally screwed if the Sun was to hit us with a south facing solar flare, or an asteroid were to strike the earth again π€£
