Indeed. I was just thinking this morning to base a new color scheme on Ubuntu, because they already do something nice with purple - this is a bit too dark though: https://github.com/guneysus/gohugo-hacker/blob/master/images/ubuntu.png
For Yarn.social i would not use a monospace font.
