@xuu this is where projects like Gemini should become more popular. There are going to be quite a lot of nay sayers about introducing yet another protocol. But this project intrigues me so much.
I wonder if there is a way to create a gemini proxy for yarn/twtxt. Could call it “gaan” as in “How’s it gaan mate?” 😂
@ullarah don’t see Gemini going anywhere. Everything Gemini does HTTP does too, and more. I just don’t get it. Why to reinvent Gopher, just slightly “better”?
And yes, I have read about it. I have read their FAQ. Again, don’t get it.
Yeah I have to agree with @fastidious on this one. I know all about Gopher and Gemini, in fact I've written the (_probably one and only_) go-gopher library for Golang 😂 -- I _wouldI write a go-gemini
too (_probably one exists already, but maybe not as good as my go-gopher
😅_) -- But the thing is, it's kind of pointless really. HTTP+TLS + Markdown is effectively Gemini.
OTOH if I were to build a Go library for Gemini, we _coudl_ easily serve yarnd
feeds over it. We already support Gopher btw 😂

@fastidious the things Gemini has going for it are mutual TLS and lack of JavaScript. Which makes for a secure albeit boring experience (much like gopher). The fake markdown is a bit of a drag.
A render mode for Gemini probably wouldnt be too hard. There are markdown to Gemini libs out there.
With Web3 the whole trust a 3rd party browser ext + high fees + env impact for compute and storage are serious no gos for me.. I have heard one too many horror stories about clicking the wrong link and some script draining your metamask wallet.
