Oki doki. Now that I have not used my Twitter account for quite some time and have been posting to https://nrw.social/cblte I am pleased with the feedback, the conversations, the reactions, and discussions I already had. Twitter was, even in the beginning, not that nice. Too many people, too many things, and if you ask something, even with 400 followers, it does not get seen. But I also should interact here a bit more often, right? But which "universe" to be used for what?
@carsten Is that a Mastodon account of yours? π€

@carsten no, I mean a full 2-way bridge. but maybe we could build cross posting support as well but the problem with cross posting is how many services do you support?

@prologic Exaclty, how many services do you want to support? I don't know. I was thinking about putting mastodon auto post into my blog every time I create a new post to mention it on the other side. Much easier would be adding a line of text to a text file to be subscribed to. But for that, there is already RSS. And to be honest, I think the way for crossposting should be over RSS. A service subscribe and then posts to different services.
@prologic But how do you want to implement a two way bridge when users are only on one side? How should the conversation history look like?
@prologic But how do you want to implement a two way bridge when users are only on one side? How should the conversation history look like? And the big question is, is this sth people want? I would not need it. Unless maybe on rare occasions, writing to some one who is on mastodon. But I think twtxt is good as it is.
@carsten Hmmm π€ I _actually_ thought I had the concept/idea quite clear in my head, but I can't seem to articulate it today π€¦ββοΈ -- In any case, the idea would be to have a 2-way bridge between Twtxt and ActivityPub, we can already follow most Mastodon users for example (feeds.twtxt.net supports this), but its only 1-way π’ -- Also the ActivityPub protocol itself is quite challenge to use and wrap your head around π€―

@prologic AH, no worries, probably already a long day for you and fresh day for me; Just got up and have first coffee. RSS: Jap. feeds is an RSS aggregator and exactly what I meant when talking about RSS.
