Isn;t this why it's every more important for us to self-host our own work, content and digital lives? 😎

@felixp7 Agreed. The diversity and inevitable splits are a bit of a downside to all this. The thing about things like Github is the community, it's a shame it had to be sold 😢

@felixp7 Yeah it's not hard to convince me really. I already have my own Git code hosting using Gogs -- The question is will my (_not so few_) contributors follow me and come along? 🤔

@prologic @felixp7 the people from sourcehut propose git by email as a solution to this. can't say i've tried it, but i like the idea of using email properly again

@deadguy @felixp7 To be honest I _think_ Email is a poor substitute for the Web-based Pull Request code review tooling we've gotten so used to. Gogs and Gitea have it, so I personally would just ust one of those. I run Gogs myself, so I'm not that worried. Question really is where will the community at large move to, or will it now be divided?

@felixp7 @prologic i'm looking to set up gitea myself. Not sure if i'll ever get contributors to stuff that will eventually end up there, but i suppose i'll cross that bridge when i get to it
