So many ppl coming to Signal that the app stopped working for me. But I do hope that Signal can handle the income of users and become the de facto app for messaging.
@antonio Mine is also having difficulties.

@ionores @antonio I'm new to Signal also, haha, how does Session compare to Signal?

@adi @ionores I have Session installed too. I think it is a bit buggy on iOS. But it is getting there.

@adi @ionores I think Session is decentralized while Signal is still centralized but with a good privacy and encryption.

@adi @antonio Well, now you just have to convince your friends to give up whatsapp -> Signal /Session! πππ#therealmissionimpossible

although Session isnβt quite silly decentralized per se, messages are just routes through at least 3 onioin rooting servers maintained by the devs, whilst Signal has routes through a singular broker

@adi @ionores yep definitely sounds like mission impossible to convince family and friends go to something like Signal or Session.

@adi @ionores @antonio Why though? π€ Session I can understand, its a bit buggy on Desktop and iOS and its user experience isn't as great IHMO.
But Signal is awesome! Just tell your friends and family that Facebook and WhatsApp are spying on all their conversations, connections and watching their every move! (_partial truths π_)_

@ionores @prologic @adi Most of ppl get it but they don't care that much, which is mind blowing. But I think over time ppl will start moving out of Whatsapp

@antonio Let me guess, they say things like, "I don't have anything to hide!" or "I'm not that important, no-one cares what I say", etc... π€

@prologic I definitely heard the: "I don't say anything important one." But most ppl are starting to understand the privacy invasion mostly because of the relevant ads that they are seen. I still think that the convenience and the fact that most ppl they know are in the platform will be what will stop most ppl from moving.

@antonio yeah the problem with all of these messaging platforms is theyβre so fundamentally incompatible with each other.
