"EDPS (European Data Protection Supervisor) issues decision finding that the European Commission has illegally targeted advertisement on citizens using "sensitive" personal data on their political views."

"The EDPS only issued a reprimand - so a formal finding that the processing was illegal and a formal warning. The EDPS considered that other measures, such as a fine, were not necessary as the Commission stopped the practise."
Too bad they don't have to also issue an apology or at least an admission of guilt, bit even not having to, they really should - it would be a first step in an attempt to recover lost credibility.

This month's reading prompt is #cozy and this #fridayreads I'll fulfill it with the second of the "Lord Peter" crime fiction novels. Last #December I read the first and honestly it was a disappointment, both in terms os Sayers' writing and Lord Peter as a character. It surprised me so much that I knew I had to read the second to see if progress was noticeable - and just by reading the start of this second one it is clear that this is completely different - good, cozy golden age crime fiction as I'd expect, and the character I am fond of.

É frequente encontrar casos em que se olha para o digital como uma versão do físico, em vez de algo distinto, o que cria situações embaraçosas. É o caso da nova "Biblioled", a Biblioteca Pública digital Portuguesa, que afinal não é uma biblioteca Portuguesa para os Portugueses, mas sim um conjunto de várias bibliotecas replicadas, representando uma biblioteca para cada um dos agrupamentos de bibliotecas físicas pertencentes à RNBP - sem que se veja qualquer valor acrescentado nesta divisão. Com isto, em vez de termos uma biblioteca nacional e para todos, temos uma "biblioteca digital fragmentada" e disponível para os cidadãos de 257 dos 308 municípios Portugueses. Sem se perceber bem porquê, criou-se assim mais uma assimetria, em que não se percebe porque uns podem requisitar livros para ver no seu telemóvel e sem sair de casa, mas os seus vizinhos do município ao lado não.
