prologic/docker-proxy: docker-proxy is a transparent HTTP proxy that proxies requests to a Docker Remote API via a local UNIX socket. It also support filtering requests and responses to enforce policies - docker-proxy - Mills -- This little proof-of-concept now works 👌 And is the basis of something I was talking about, a "Container as a Service". Now I just have to figure out billing, build some APIs and find someone with better UI/UX skillz than me to put a swank UI on it 🤣

@jmjl Wellt o my knowledge, no-one has every run such a service before. And to be specific, I mean where you pay to run containers and only for the resources the container uses. Normally anyone that claims to do "container hosting" essentially just rentes you a VM of some size and runs an OS on it with supporting tools and services that are designed for running containers. Not quite the same thing, becuase the price comes out at well either at VM prices or higher.

@apex Oh nice! How cool 😅 Yeah there has to be some fine-turning we can work out for Android/Gradle builds that don't consume a tonne of RAM 🤣 Under normal circumstances in Github Actions I'm sure this is fine, 3.8GB, but on your own much more constrained hardware, I'd have to shutdown a tonne of services just to run CI? 😳

Today we went on another roadtrip! Was really nice, we also spent 2 hours in a crowded resturant (table outside), with our dog Nanook, went great! Kids could eat a whole pizza, and he just sat there next to the table taking in the view, dogs walked by, people walked by, crowded street etc, was awesome to see that all the training we have done gives very positive results :) Been a fantastic day. And was nice to spend it all with my family, I love having time off work.

O Presidente da República disse mesmo que termos este evento Católico a decorrer no nosso país laico é o maior acontecimento da democracia Portuguesa? Que vergonha.

@New_scientist hello @prologic here's another feed that's spewing multiple copies of the same post. This one above is repeated 8 times. @awesome-scala-weekly now has 13 copies of each post every week. This definitely looks like a bug in whatever code is generating these feeds, because the source feeds don't have multiple copies of the original posts:

- Has 8 copies of the above post: https://feeds.twtxt.net/New_scientist/twtxt.txt
- Has only 1 copy of the above post: https://www.newscientist.com/feed/home/

I forget whether I filed an issue on this before, but can you tell me where I should do that?
@prologic I don't know, I mean the service you mentioned from the message of the fork thread reply I made...

had no problem keeping it around the target pace. definitely hot and humid so the cardiac drift came in, but felt fine and easy until the last "hill".

@prologic Could you explain why Docker's CaaS system failed?
I know it, Station, but I didn't play.
It looks like interesting, maybe one day I'll try it!
Yes, sorry, you can follow hashtags, but you can't see how many hashtags you are following.
There isn't a hashtag list.
It's weird...
I would define things these terms like this:

- Decentralised systems are those in control of the data and its locality.
- Distributed systems are systems with participating nodes in a network that cooperate in decisions with data locality over the whole network.
- Federation enables systems and users to communicate across boundaries using identities.

The key differences come down to data locality and control.

BMW for example provide SIMs in their vehicles and up to a few years of plans with local telcos.

it's not clear to me what happens when this runs out though 🤔

Or if you can even opt out 🤔

@prologic Could you link to some blog post or some explanatory of why the y failed?, this could make this new service also fail.
If it were to be setted up like a container there'd be a few restrictions and you'd be billed for all the storage of the container, and the resources used by it, but that's like all the cloud computing pay-as-you-go plans...
my translation:

«The judge considered that, despite Renault Portugal having claimed the company and brand has no means to block the vehicles, it was proved that "there is a computer platform that was activated, in a way not disclosed, and through which was operated first the blocking and then the unblocking of the batteries”.»
@movq I don't really know. Here's a concerning quote:

«A juíza considerou que, apesar de a Renault Portugal ter garantido que a empresa e a marca não tinham meios para bloquear as viaturas, se fez prova de que “há uma plataforma informática que foi accionada, de forma que as requeridas não concretizaram, e através da qual foi operado primeiro o bloqueio e depois o desbloqueio das baterias”.»

No, you can't. However, you can fix the hashtag on a new tab, at least at mastodon.social
I'm not a definition-guy, is for that reason I need to focus on that things. With the correct words everything is easier ;)
Once I found out that you can follow hashtags (and not only people), Mastodon got a lot more interesting. 🤔 My timeline is flooded with interesting content now.

(Only problem is, I don’t know where I can find a list of hashtags that I’m following. It’s kind of an obscure feature …)

Yep, that's right, we have to use these tools in a proper way; terminal it’s not a friendly tool to use for this kind of stuff, on mobile devices, and web interfaces are prepared to bring us a confortable space.

Btw, I'm waiting for your php based client 😜 no pressure... 🤭
So, not unexpected - but the guy was a scammer. And he took his time trying to lure in.
There where several red flags early on, but I went along with it because I wanted to know what the final way of scamming would be. So in the end he pretended that he had a ~5000USD transaction, and sent a screenshot from the same website as my NFT's are on (to try to look legitimate), but there was obviously no notification on the legit site about this. He then sent another QR code (which I extracted the url from in a isolated VM), and that was the phishing site, a kinda similar url to the main legit site - that forwards you there.
So at least now his account is nuked and did not get anything from me at least.~
I'm using rss on a terminal (Termux) in my phone, it's more confortable read there articles and other stuff, but for posting on twtxt, I tried , I swear it, but it's too much, it's not practical, I have to assume that it's better in a website/app like this.

Yarn wins!
All it's about definitions:

"people who want clarity things will tighten their definitions, so they’ll reduce the scope or boundaries. People who are attempting to misuse definitions will shift them around or weaken the definitions to include more stuff. They get less precise."

@marado I can’t read the full article, probably requires a subscription.

Here’s a naïve question from someone who has never driven a modern car like this: How does tracking like this work? Does the car have its own SIM card for mobile internet? (If so, who pays for that?) 🤨

@prologic the confusion over these words is rampant 🤦‍♂️

But c'mon, it's not a decentralised system, it's a distributed network! FFS c'mon people 🤦‍♂️
