@lyse Sooooooooooooooo … you order now and they deliver in April? Sounds like a good deal.
@lyse Hm, well I guess I just expected ants to be tiny. But that girl looks like it’s the size of a regular bug/spider. 😅

Got an advertising handout in the letterbox that a pizzeria will offer and also deliver brick-oven-baked pizza starting 1st April.

@prologic @bender I can't make it, we tidy up our scout yard.
@movq Oh, cool. Larger than the the workers. I don't know the actual size of this test tube, but when this is a regular sized one, the queen is still not that big.

@prologic @bender No worries. In the end you did it all with your backup. And sorry for my exported timezone mess. :-/

The Australia Labor government, Albanese and the honourable Michelle Rowland federal member for parliament and communications minster are fucking clowns. It's stupid shit like this that's the _real_ problem with "big tech" social media platforms. These morons just simply don't understand basic economics and basic business.

Why would a company like Meta, X and TikTok give up a large multi-billion dollar segment of the market. That is, young children from the ages of ~3 to 16 (_yes kids these days can use a computer or device from a pretty young age!_)

The whole masquerade of "online saftey" and the new Australia legislation of the Online Safety Act 2021 is complete and utter bullshit.

You wanna fix this whole cybercrime and cyber bullying that goes on (_which btw if you understood how these fucking platforms worked in the first place, you'd realise drives up engagement on the platforms by abusing human emotional and psychological weakness_), then ban and make illegal with multi-Billion dollar fines the following:

- Profiting off data collected by users on your platform(s)
- Categorizing users on your platform and performing A/B tests
- Targeting users (_of any age_) for advertising

In fact just ban targeted advertising period.

After several hard hours, I _think_ I've recovered the last missing 1 Twt from @bender 🥳 Turns out just before I accidentally nuked my pod, I took a dump of it's cached just seconds before 🤣 -- So I was also able to rebuild anything that was missing from the backup from the recent cache dump!

🔥 ATTENTION: I have really bad news folks 😢

Today, (_just this morning in AEST_) I accidentally nuke my pod (twtxt.net). I keep backups, but unfortunately the recovery point objective (RTP) is at worst a month! 🤦‍♂️ 😱 (_the recovery time objective is around ~30m or so, restoring can take a while due to the size of the archive and index_) -- For those that are unfamiliar with these terms, they essentially relate to "how much data loss can occur" (RPO) and "how quickly you can restore the system" (RTO).

This pod (twtxt.net) is back up and online. However we've last the last ~5 days worth of posts y'all _may_ have made on your feeds (_for those that use this pod_).

I'm so sorry 😞

OK, OK, I will use the cheap one. :-P
@movq I'm all in on paper. In fact I noted down a todo item today on a physical sheet of paper when I was on the phone with a workmate. It then occurred to me that I could have just written it in a scratch file.

The parchment, on the other hand, might be a bit wasteful for just temporary ideas that are not perfectly layed out yet.
@movq no, no stupid at all. I just don't like more things laying around, collecting dust. I am 100% digital.
You guys make it sound like a stupid idea. 🤣 Dunno, I like the idea. But I also like writing in general and calligraphy, maybe that’s the reason. 😝

@lyse can one truly set a fixed price on art? I wouldn’t pay the original amount (in retrospect, I regret it, as it could make me richer now), but those who did were buying art, and a piece of history. It is well made, to boot.

But again, not for me. 😅
@wbknl @bender For improved longevity you should consider carving in steel or stone. This also has the additional benefit that you think more carefully before actually noting it down.
yesterday, probably
@bender The world is full of fools. One of 'em might even buy that for this money. O_o Even the original price is a total ripoff in my opinion.

Portion of the modified Twitter TOS that goes into effect today (it's on right now), as summarise (ironically) by Google's Gemini:

They can copy, modify, distribute, and even use it to train their AI models. This includes sharing your content with others and using it on other platforms. @prologic true. I was thinking more on Yarn's/twtxt size (as it's today). I find it attracting to have the ability of having a small group of GtS instances that *only*, and exclusively, federate with each other.
