@prologic I created a script for your book. i have only done the first two chapters. have to do some adjustments to the text so it sounds ok and that takes time..
In the meantime, I tried to add English subtitles, so the international audience has a chance of enjoying some of them, too. There are a bunch of puns, so translations don't work at that great.
I went to an exhibition of my fine arts teacher who passed away last year. He was a pretty cool dude and good teacher. I reckon I had him in 7th and probably also 8th grade. His Schelme (imps) were very famous here in this county and presumably well beyond.
Unfortunately, picture frame glas doesn't mix all that great with a fairly dark light and my camera. So, sorry in adavance for the poor quality. Anyway, I photographed a few funny paintings. Watch out, it may contain saucy contents: https://lyse.isobeef.org/siegfried-wagner-farrenstall-2025-03-15/.

wahhh i wanna work towards my dream of offering pay as you can web hosting (static & dynamic) but i don't know how!!!!! i keep drifting towards hosting panels but i don't exactly have fresh linux servers for those nor do i like the level of access they require. so i'm like ok i can do the static site part with SFTP chroot jails and a front-end like filebrowser or something.... but then what about the dynamic sites!!!!!!! UGH
granted i doubt i'd get much interest in dynamic sites but i'd like to do this old school where i can offer people isolated mySQL databases or something for some project (i'm thinking PHP based fanlistings), which means i could do it the old school way of... people ask me to run it and i do it for them. but i kind of want to let people have access to be able to do it themselves just short of giving them SSH access which isn't happening

I want to move to #Codeberg at some point this year... I wonder how much trouble it will be to move all my GitHub Pages stuff (all my personal pages are based on it).
@xuu Yeah looks like an edge case. Because of the way he announces his preferred nick in the feed the "Reply" button spits out @eapl.me@eapl.me@eapl.me for me, which then gets eaten as two mentions, probably matching twice against my following list?
@eapl.me@eapl.me I replied in the fork, but essentially there's no reason we can't support two different models here. We already do this anyway with numerous single-user, single hosted and managed feeds + a bunch of multi-user yarnd pods that form a "distributed network".
@eapl.me@eapl.me I _think_ the general idea that we're settling on here is that maybe we can build a simple solution to this whole "wtf is this hash?" problem. yarnd already forms a sort-of "distributed network" amongst its peers and whilsts uses Twtxt (_of course_) is both decentralised and distributed. Nothing wrong with that. -- I tried to build a search engine and crawler, but getting that resource efficient and useful is hard™.
So if we can have a small network of participating members of the community forming a "distributed network" of the Twtxt™ space, we can solve this problem quite easily. We could even put some GeoDNS routing in place and a single A record/domain to make things even easier. Let's call it s "Registry Service" if you will :)
"A Gamut Of Games" von Sid Sackson ist ein Buch über "andere" Spiele. Ich konnte die Tage einige davon ausprobieren: "Lines of Action" (LoA), "Three Musketeers" und "Network". Alle haben, für mich, wunderbar frische Spielmechaniken. Beim Lesen meine ich, bei einigen anderen Spielbeschreibungen, Vorlagen für das Spiel "Tak - ein schönes Spiel" entdeckt zu haben. Live is Remix!
Another #fridayreads with a copy #heartstopper - I'm surprised how readable it is in digital format (I'm borrowing it from the library), and I'm in need of no-brainer comfort reading.
I'd still prefer reading on paper, but my local library doesn't have them 😞
#bookstodon Digital book cover of Heartstopper 3, Portuguese edition

SQL scares me i tweaked a bash script that pulled from a DB and the bash part was easy even if i was just going off of the code in there that i didn't write (like i understood it at least) but the SQL parts had me suffering

The new major release for the #komments plugin is sitting here for some weeks now. It's ready, but I am hardly procrastinating on writing the documentation. 😬 This time it's crucial to do it right because it's a massive release with plenty of breaking changes.Today I forced myself to work on it and made good progress. Looking forward to getting it done soon.
@movq@prologic Dito. Even though I only had four day weeks and three days of weekend the last month, I feel very exhausted as well. Back to five days next week. :-(
@movq That's cool! I just can't justify the amount of space it permanently takes. But it fits nicely with the other gauges you have. And with that in mind, it actually is super tiny.
@eapl.me Interesting, I wasn't aware that other parts of the world consider them to be a German thing :-)
"We are pleased to announce the release of GNUnet 0.24.0.
GNUnet is an alternative network stack for building secure, decentralized and privacy-preserving distributed applications.
Our goal is to replace the old insecure Internet protocol stack. Starting from an application for secure publication of files, it has grown to include all kinds of basic protocol components and applications towards the creation of a GNU internet.
This is a new major release. Major versions may break protocol compatibility with the 0.23.0X versions. Please be aware that Git master is thus henceforth (and has been for a while) INCOMPATIBLE with the 0.23.0X GNUnet network, and interactions between old and new peers will result in issues. In terms of usability, users should be aware that there are still a number of known open issues in particular with respect to ease of use, but also some critical privacy issues especially for mobile users. Also, the nascent network is tiny and thus unlikely to provide good anonymity or extensive amounts of interesting information. As a result, the 0.24.0 release is still only suitable for early adopters with some reasonable pain tolerance."
