Me just got an iPad 8, so there is no need to upgrade. The performance might be a massive step forward with integration of the Apple M1 chip. So, not only the iPad Pro has it, but also the iPad Air 2022 has the Apple M1 chip 
@carsten What's the point of a powerful desktop chip in such a locked down device with nothing but a touch screen and an optional keyboard? At least my Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 has the terrible keyboard built in and lets me install whatever operating system I want.
@mckinley Sure. Valid points. For me it is the whole ecosystem that just works. I do most of stuff on an iPad and an iPhone. Because? It just works. Non of my iPhones in the past has ever let me down. I do appreciate a world where I can install any OS I want. But sometimes I just want something secure and safe that always works.
