@eldersnake we are all users, whether we run a pod or not ☺️.

I am sure the “usual social media alternatives” are quite thoughtful. On my experience, Twitter does a decent job on what it accepts (format and size wise), and the resultant file after upload.

Of course, we wouldn’t be on this yarn if there were a slightly broader support for graphic formats, namely animated GIFs. 😂
This is of course digressing, but here's where I'm gonna have to strongly disagree with this 😅

For example:

Twitter's front page:

- Tonnes of advertising and tracking for starters
- You're more or less forced to have an account
- It had to loads up tonnes of requests and resources

a Yarn.social Pod:

- No ads, no tracking, minimal requests
- You don't have to have an account to read
- It loads up the small number of resources possible

Proof?

## Twitter

All their ad-tracking garbage:

Their insane number of requests for resources:

## Twtxt.net

No ads or tracking whatsoever:

Minimal requests for resources (_really it's media that counts!_):

@prologic I know Twitter is just shit, I hate it for all these and many other reasons, but even I think saying that you need an account to read it is a bit dishonest. 🤔
@thecanine Yeah you don’t really need one but they kind of put it in your face a bit on the front oage 😆
