@prologic Could you link to some blog post or some explanatory of why the y failed?, this could make this new service also fail.
If it were to be setted up like a container there'd be a few restrictions and you'd be billed for all the storage of the container, and the resources used by it, but that's like all the cloud computing pay-as-you-go plans...
my translation:
«The judge considered that, despite Renault Portugal having claimed the company and brand has no means to block the vehicles, it was proved that "there is a computer platform that was activated, in a way not disclosed, and through which was operated first the blocking and then the unblocking of the batteries”.»
@movq I don't really know. Here's a concerning quote:
«A juíza considerou que, apesar de a Renault Portugal ter garantido que a empresa e a marca não tinham meios para bloquear as viaturas, se fez prova de que “há uma plataforma informática que foi accionada, de forma que as requeridas não concretizaram, e através da qual foi operado primeiro o bloqueio e depois o desbloqueio das baterias”.»
No, you can't. However, you can fix the hashtag on a new tab, at least at mastodon.social
I'm not a definition-guy, is for that reason I need to focus on that things. With the correct words everything is easier ;)
Once I found out that you can follow hashtags (and not only people), Mastodon got a lot more interesting. 🤔 My timeline is flooded with interesting content now.
(Only problem is, I don’t know where I can find a list of hashtags that I’m following. It’s kind of an obscure feature …)

Yep, that's right, we have to use these tools in a proper way; terminal it’s not a friendly tool to use for this kind of stuff, on mobile devices, and web interfaces are prepared to bring us a confortable space.
Btw, I'm waiting for your php based client 😜 no pressure... 🤭
So, not unexpected - but the guy was a scammer. And he took his time trying to lure in.
There where several red flags early on, but I went along with it because I wanted to know what the final way of scamming would be. So in the end he pretended that he had a ~5000USD transaction, and sent a screenshot from the same website as my NFT's are on (to try to look legitimate), but there was obviously no notification on the legit site about this. He then sent another QR code (which I extracted the url from in a isolated VM), and that was the phishing site, a kinda similar url to the main legit site - that forwards you there.
So at least now his account is nuked and did not get anything from me at least.~
I'm using rss on a terminal (Termux) in my phone, it's more confortable read there articles and other stuff, but for posting on twtxt, I tried , I swear it, but it's too much, it's not practical, I have to assume that it's better in a website/app like this.
Yarn wins!
All it's about definitions:
"people who want clarity things will tighten their definitions, so they’ll reduce the scope or boundaries. People who are attempting to misuse definitions will shift them around or weaken the definitions to include more stuff. They get less precise."

@marado I can’t read the full article, probably requires a subscription.
Here’s a naïve question from someone who has never driven a modern car like this: How does tracking like this work? Does the car have its own SIM card for mobile internet? (If so, who pays for that?) 🤨

@prologic the confusion over these words is rampant 🤦♂️
> The benefits of blockchain implementation across multiple sectors are well-documented, but how can this decentralised solution be used to achieve more sustainable programming?
But c'mon, it's not a decentralised system, it's a distributed network! FFS c'mon people 🤦♂️

WTF are you talking about? The only thing well-documented about "the blockchain" is that it sucks and its primary use case is creating Ponzi schemes.
Semi-lazy day today après le déluge
@bender Oh I would never offer such a service here at the Mills DC for sure 😅 😅 NBN Co is a piece of holy shit™ 😱 This copper garbage they continue to do nothing about is beyond a joke, its downright embarrassing. We have 3rd-world countries that have better quality broadband than Australia's NBN Co 🤦♂️

@prologic true, indeed! All I can say is, don’t offer this at Mills. Your connectivity isn’t stable (I have come many, many times to find CloudFlare messages). You will have to rent space elsewhere, and then numbers will look differently.

@abucci Sort of. But, if you look around, and I mean look really hard, no-one really officer this kind of "small slice" computing anywhere. Docker tried to do this once and failed. Containers as a Service -- CaaS.

we-are-twtxt moved to Yarn.social but is no longer maintained. I don't think anyone uses this anymore.
it could also be interesting to add additional API(s) to the crawler/search-engine I wrote to visualise the ecosystem?

Renault has a remote locking "feature" on the batteries of their electric cars. They used it in Portugal, and that was considered illegal.

@prologic are you trying to reinvent cloud computing?!?
The problem with the Repugnant Conclusion in UDASSA is that you run out of low-complexity creatures to occupy the short programs with
The entire point would be that you don't get an antire machine, but a container.

@eapl.me What if it were also possible to "pause" your apps and only pay a much smaller amount for say storage? When you use it again you pay something like tiny amount per hour

@bender That depends on what you're intending to run. 10 milliCores of CPu is probably rnough for a tiny web app that doesn't see huge traffic volumes 😅 Right? 🤔

I hung up a older tv in our bedroom today, a dumb tv without any smart features, bought one of those new chromecast's, works very well, pleased with this setup. Gonna be nice to watch some TV in bed, or listen to podcasts etc.
I’m having an Internet outage at the moment … and now I can’t use valgrind anymore, because it needs to fetch stuff from the net during startup. 😒
