@movq Oh, that sounds very cool. Let us know when you have something to try out in the terminal. :-)

@lyse Much appreciated, indeed. I wonder if that finally concludes the heat waves for this year.

Making a Pipe Dream “clone” of some sort could be a fun endeavour. 🤔 Might even work in a terminal using box drawing characters. Hmmmm.

@marado Hmm I turned it off 🤦♂️ I really hated how it turned my pod into so much noise 😢 -- I guess I'm going to have to build out that Twtxt<->ActivityPub service after all 🤔

hi @prologic , did something happen to the AP sync from twtxt.net ? My "last toots" seen on mastodon seem quite outdated...

Exactly 10 years ago Kokori's first release on vinyl was out - and we celebrated with a release party in one of the afternoons of the Entremuralhas festival.
Ten years later, we're back attending the festival, and this time we see one of the stands selling our latest release, rootkit, on CD! ♡

And here is part two, awesome! \\o/ Heavy rain, constant lightning, thunder and wind. Really nice. Unfortunately, my camera is tooooo shitty, to yield anything useful. Even video mode sucked and all frames from the video are of zero use. The cam only captured the very bright lightnings, but the smaller ones are invisible. Very frustrating. Anyway, it's cooling down. Much appreciated. And the air smells so wonderful. Got a bit soaked at the roofed front door.

@movq Wow, that's really unexpected. Very pleasant surprise, I have to say. :-) Maybe the Turbo C++ folks liked Unix quite a bit. Happy exploring! :-)
First part of the severe wetter rolled past us. So we could go out for a walk. Didn't bring my camera, though.

@lyse Oh, I was just as surprised as you. 😀 A large amount of stuff just works, even signal handling – which I never expected to be available on DOS, because, you know, it’s *UNIX signals*. Turbo C++ has lots of references to UNIX anyway, the help pages almost read like manpages:

A portability table for a function, what the heck? I never expected to see something like that. 🤯 (Turbo C++ is from 1992 – I didn’t even know what UNIX was during that time. Only DOS, Windows, and OS/2 existed in my little world.)
And it’s so fascinating that code which I wrote in 2015 without any intention of ever porting it to some other system just compiles with a 20/30 year old compiler and then the program *works*. 🤯🤯🤯 Granted, the program is simple, but still.
It shows that I don’t really have a lot of knowledge about DOS on this level / from this perspective. On the other hand, it means that I now get to explore this old operating system like it’s brand new. 😅

@movq Yiha, very cool! :-) Oh nice, even a starship. Just had a look at the commits of the port and it seems that making it work on DOS was not too difficult. I don't know what I expected, but I was suprised how little changes it took.
Everything looks good. But because I also programmed C++ again today, it's very hot in here.

I like that a lot and put it in the README. Thanks! 😊
The port to DOS is done, I’d say:
https://movq.de/v/d4cc4647c6/MVI_6505.MOV.mp4
The -e flag (/e on DOS) works now. 😃 There you go, an Enterprise!

this thing doesn'y handle emojis very well
Just realized I made a spelling mistake, I wrote "I" instead of "it". Big oof.
Actually I might just be Lynx. Cause even without torsocks my messages dissapear when I refresh chat. Is Lynx using a previous document so it doesn't have to get it from the server again or something?
I also got torsocks working on it but it doesn't seem to work very well with magical.fish
I got a MacBook Pro to do schoolwork on but they put like monitoring and remote control software on it. So I installed Asahi Linux on it! Now they can't see what I'm doing, since they haven't put any monitoring software this OS.
As soon as I stop using Torsocks I can see my messages
Oh so NOW they're showing up
Why do my messages keep dissapearing
