@off_grid_living In theory you should be able to consume as much power as is coming in off your panels and keeping your SoC at ~100% or close to it.~

@carsten It's always a good idea to write small thing first:
Then do something that scratches an itch for you.

Migrating from CodiMD & HackMD

I wonder if HedgeDoc is what powers HackMD? π€ The interface _looks_ really familiar to me. I _might_ spin this up locally, looks really good π

@david I suspect this is one of those cases where you can't trademark things like "Messages" and it might also be a case of prior art π€
But you have a very good interesting point π

@svendowideit Maybe that opportunity might present itself again soon, when it's actually my own company (_launched Oct 2021_). Still in pre-planning/pre-startup phase, lots to do, etc π

@david I don't think he said "fake", but rather, guests are often brought on to just agree with the narrative already established π
C'mon π You probably don't see it the way some of us down under do, where here in Australia our media is basically owned by Murdoch. We have no independent media left anymore, even the ABC has been stripped of all their funding, so much so they don't even have decent furniture in the offices anymore π’

Also I don't really regularly watch any of Joe's podcast, but I'm not really aware of him purposefully misinforming his viewers or flat out lying.
He's quite unpopular amongst the mainstream narrative that's for sure and regularly brings on guests from both sides. But beyond that? π€

This is fueled by these echo chambers and algorithms that control masses of people. Censorship and silencing people in general just because you don't like what they have to say isn't the answer.
To fix this we need economic policy changes that deincentivise control of data and information -- e.g: ban targeted advertising,l

And let's be clear here about my stance on this... What really annoys me is not whether or not person X is vaccinated or person Y is not, it's the selfish people that go out willingly and knowingly sick and ill with god knows what with no regard for anyone else around them. I felt this way even _before* the pandemic. Nobody seems to really follow the "If you're unwell, stay home" unwritten rule. π€¦ββοΈ
Anyway, the point was not about the pandemic or so-called "misinformation" (_what is this anyway?!_) -- But this dangerous trend of not being allowed debate, think, etc._*

We keep living in this bubbles of "this person said X" and "that person said Y" and it's all "misinformation" but we forget to question the intent and source behind the stories, the narratives and far too often the intentional deceit.
Without debate, without expressions and discourse, what do we have left?

@david But who gets to decide? π€ As a fellow parent you should know that I make choices for my children when they are young, but I teach them the meaning of having choices, questioning their rality around them, valuing their privacy, security and freedoms. Respecting others, and so forth.
This isn't about misinformation or that potential harm that can have. In fact misinformation is big business* and corporate propaganda and lies about competing business are all far too common today. Let's not forget that.*

@david So... No. He isn't necessarily defending Joe here and neither am I. I linked it because this fellow Aussie is highlighting an important message. The last few years has seen an ever increasing level of censorship, cancel culture, corporate interests and a growing trend of silencing critics and debates.
I have a huge problem with all of this. The path we as a society are heading down is a very dangerous one. If we are not allowed to speak, discuss, criticise, debate or question, then I don't see a very bright future for my children π’

@david Good to know π I haven't upgraded to Apple Silicon yet, I tend to wait for an iteration or two before making drastic changes to hardware/software π
And it was a good thing I normally do, because when they first introduced the Apple M1 there _were_ some software compatibility problems, but no more! π

@david Ahhh! π Trust you to keep up-to-date with all the #Apple news π

@carsten Yeah I wish Apple would reverse track on this firewall bypass they've allowed for themselves. Apple would have much greater respect in the community and trust:

@carsten I _think_ the main thing is the Application level firewall, which is not something you can do at the Network level -- But OTOH you have me worried that Little Snitch no longer works on Apple's M1 hardware? (_I haven't upgraded to Macbook M1s yet..._) -- Or were you simply referring to the backdoor Apple created for themselves to circumvent Kernel-level network filtering for their own builtin apps? If so I agree, I _believe_ this is unethical of Apple and whilst I love their hardware and software, I still don't trust them.

@ullarah That's Micro Snitch but yeah π One is more of an Application Firewall that operates at the Kernel level, it's the different between a Network Firewall and the use of eBPF in the Linux Kernel to monitor and potentially block unwanted syscalls or unwanted network connecting in Applications running on Linux OS(es).
