@adi I don't know Bucharest. I would like to visit one day. I have seem pictures and it looks like it is a beautiful city with nice buildings and large and green avenues. I don't know React but I believe any of the big ones that are popular at the moment you would be able to find companies in SF using it. One can pick a framework that he/she enjoys to work with the most and there will be a demand for it for sure.
@adi I sometimes get tired of the city life. But most of the time I enjoy it. In terms of stacks, I work with iOS development but ppl working on the backend and web usually use either Python, Ruby, Go or Node and React, Vue or Angular. Depends of the company. Where I work is Python/Django with React.
@adi Hey! I like it here. It is nice. Since March we are on lockdown so it's been hard to enjoy the city but it is still a nice city IMO. Where are you?
@prologic oh! cool! it works!!!! what can I do with it?
@prologic cool. You make it sound really simple. Is it just a Linux install where you create accounts that are not root and give the accounts credentials to the users? Or is there more to that?
@prologic yeah I would like to be an alpha tester. ๐ I also would like to learn how to setup something like that myself too.
@prologic that would be super cool. This might be very similar to what the tilde community has own their hosted server (from what I understand). I am thinking this kind of service are great for ppl that don't know or don't have the resources to run their own linux/unix distro but want to learn how the system works. When you did that in the past, who were using it?
@prologic man! this ppl feeding them! I wasn't aware of the problem they cause to farmers. I definitely will look at them differently now.
@prologic That would be interesting. What type of permissions users would have on their shell accounts?
@prologic I bet that beak is super strong and destructive!
@prologic yeah ๐ you are in a different level! ๐
@adi cool I will check out tilde.institute
Anyone here is part of any tilde server / community? How is it like?
@prologic Cockatoos are one of the coolest looking birds!
@prologic Oh yeah, right I cut it down a bit short sorry. But they used ads on TV showing family playing games together instead of being something that parent would buy for their kids. They also changed how they present the games images on their packages, instead of having images of real people playing tennis for example, they had a images of games screenshots. That way they would avoid ppl to buy the game just to find out that doesn't look like the package images. Quite interesting.
I have written a post about the War Stories episode I have watched recently.
@prologic that looks awesome. I bet she had fun! In the end it's what matters!!!!
@ionores Correct. Self-hosted on the Odroid-HC4. Using Portainer to managed the docker images. Miniflux seems to be working. ๐
@prologic (#e3c65ua) yeah it is nice, right? I got it running yesterday. Now I will try Wallabag. The idea is to have both working together so if I spot something on Miniflux that I don't have time to read I will save it to Wallabag to read later. Let see if I can get it to work.
@dooven LOL I have to get back to it. Stopped on Day 2.
planning to use a combination of Wallabag and Miniflux for self-hosted read-later and bookmarking. Anyone using it?
@prologic @lyxal I think once the leaderboard is created we should get a code that we can share here and anyone interested can join.
@prologic Iare you on a leaderboard? Should we create one for twtxt? I have done day 1 and day 2 so far.
@prologic Looking good in the picture mate! Congrats on winning!
@birb hi birb sorry for taking long to reply. The box thing is a Odroid which is a single board computer similar to raspberry Pi. I am setting up a home server with it.
@prologic @adi I am also not very good on CSS. I can understand and make tweaks. But for the jointwt website I used a Hugo theme that you can find here.

@prologic It is Thanksgiving here in the US. So just getting started on a long weekend. Celebrations will be contained due to the coronavirus and nevertheless it should be fun and relaxing.
@prologic @home_datacenter Nice! Thanks. Yeah I think it will be great to have a compact machine to take care of my storage and servers need.
@prologic yes. season 2 started on October 30th. they are releasing one episode per week
@prologic season two started three weeks ago they are releasing one episode a week. I have been enjoying a great deal!
@ionores you are smart! and with great self control. like a master yedi ๐
Is anyone here watching The Mandalorian on Disney+? ๐ฟ๐ฅ
@prologic Morning traffic is hard. How long is your commute?
@prologic @dooven @lukem I agree with other that Direct Messages are useful. I also think the way to go is some sort of encryption. Does it need to be something the is compatible with twtxt? Compatibility would be cool but I think it would make it harder and I am not sure if would be necessary.
@prologic I had created an account and given the credentials to them but it could well be that they were creating new accounts. I honestly don't think they would go that far. Also from the timestamp the TestFlight app was already approved by that time today.
@prologic oh! interesting! That is not the first time I heard that a common misspelling becomes a thing!
@deadguy I think the advantage of using twtxt.net over your own twtxt.txt is that you get the nice interface that @prologic and others built here and also the nice Goryon app that @dooven have built. If you really want to own your twtxt and still have all these features and the app I suggest you to install the twtxt software (same software that twtxt.net and twt.social pods use) on a machine you control.
Working hard!
I have been slowly moving my stuff away from big tech to a self-hosted environment. when I read stuff like this I think I should take it more seriously ๐ฑ
@prologic yeah it is a different format. But all the other ideas are very similar. Insances and paid hosting.

@prologic That is probably if the syndicate elsewhere via their feed.
@prologic I heard that "This post was last seen" is a SEO thing. Basically the website is telling Google: "don't penalize me on the ranks because I am telling you I didn't copy this post I am just republishing it and linking to the original". I bet they even have a rel=
specifically for that.
@prologic I agree I don't think most ppl needs their cloud services. I don't use any.... well... not true... I use Apple TV+ but that is because I got it for free. And... I have enjoyed watching For All Man Kind tv show.
@prologic probably not. LOL but you can have lots of nice paring functionality with your phone. But it will probably work better with Apple Music which I donโt have and donโt plan to pay for.
@lukem @prologic these days I drink mostly filtered coffee with rare exceptions when I make myself a coffee using the mokka pot on the picture. But a while back I used to own this machine which is a great simple machine. Most coffee experts may not like it but for most ppl, it does the job at a reasonable price. But you do have to couple it with a good grinder.
@prologic nice. what do you think about the HomePod Mini Apple announced? I thought it was a cool device with a ok price at US$99
@prologic your coffee marker looks like less maintenance them ours. mine I just clear and it is always a process

@prologic was trying to figure out were the issue was from
@prologic just to give more context. I am tapping on the hash from Goryon
@prologic should a user be able to access the conversation page even if they are not logged in? I am asking that because if I tap on a hash I am taken to the search but that search doesnโt have the original twt. but since I am not logged in I donโt see the conversation button.
@lukem yeah my phone is a bit have so this tripod on the photo needs to be carefully setup for it to stand.
@kt84 yeah so far I like ot. did take a few test photos last night
@prologic looks like when I tap the hash from Goryon I am taken to the right place in the twtxt.net. Did you fix the issue? seems like it is working
@prologic oh yeah conversation. that is very true.
