@prologic PM at jlohn@canimandra.com.br
I love opportunistic cryptography.
@fastidious it relies on the common DNS structure. of course you can use some alternative service, but anyone trying to access your service need to use it too.
IMHO Yggdrasil sins in not worrying much about anonimicity.
There is another LLARP project called Lokinet. They also have An integrated (and distributed) DNS service.
@fastidious @lyse Oh, silly me! Sorry.
But I have to work a little less than 4 years till retirement.
@lyse Not much yet. I got an account at a IBM training Z/OS mainframe and made some little programs. At least JCL looks easier than I expected.
And I succed in install an Hercules emulator with MVS. Just follow the walkthru guide and make no idea what those commands means.
I don't use docker swarm yet. Soo I need some simple docker solutions. I'm waiting the Brazilian Real exchange rate downs a little to buy some pi's and make a home data center.
@lyse Thanks! I'm almost retired. I'll have to do something to spend my free time. What's better than learn some ancient tech, right?
Hey @prologic, have you heard about Watchtower to keep containers updated?
I'm trying it with yarn starting today.
Happy New Year @prologic
I still have more 12 hours of 2021 left
@prologic looks line it's gone. Your profile pic is updating ok
@prologic Done! I'm thinking about automatize this update process. Of course, I trust blindly in your docker image, so there is no reason to do it manually.
@lyse Yeah! This is really fun.
@prologic Just for my own amusement. But… there are some cool (and well paid) jobs in COBOL around. Maybe it could be an option in the near future. I like the mainframes. Since I was a kid.
Can I have your cat, Sir?
scam
I hate myself so much that I'm learning COBOL in my (little) free time.
@prologic nops. And I nuked the avatars directory and it downloaded all the avatars again except yours. I think the monster is turning back to its creator.
@prologic I updated yarn to last version and refreshed cache, and it keeps the wrong pic.
Anyway, Merry Christmas too!
@prologic That's a nice 5min start. Taking the opportunity, which IDE do you use for go?
I put everything on "My List" and never check it back again.
@jlj I loved the logo! (and the post, of course)
@prologic I think this is awesome. I'm proud to be part of this.
Annnd... I need to learn go. No money here, but at least I would make some cool PRs (or MRs?)
@ullarah bet who's next? CSAM is here too...
@prologic updated and enabled! Thanks! Woohoo!
@prologic is it updated on docker hub too? Just being lazy.
And how/where to enable the feature?
@prologic I wish a “supermegalike” reaction in Yarn… #AppleIsEvil
@fastidious grande means big in portuguese. Just to note.
@anth I outsourced sending mail to sendinblue (in my tests it has the best deliverability ratio).
But I totally agree with you. With Microsoft being a close second one.
Hi @prologic. Some yarns appear this way on my pod. I didn't follow novaburst. Is this the expected behavior or did I mistake something?
@prologic don't worry. I kinda like to fix those things.
@fastidious updated! I was editing the configuration file directly. Much easier this way.
@prologic Easy to fix. No big deal. I just didn't have time to debug it sooner.
@prologic Thanks! This commit broke my compose setup. I used to pass yarnd options through cmd
because yarnd was in entrypoint
.
@prologic I found how to update the site's logo (I will put some other soon), but didn't find where to change site's name/description on top menu.
@prologic Updated! I usually never update those things. I just didn't find where the description shows up.
@fastidious thanks! A little late to the party, but still here!
@prologic @fox And about the new logo, I really liked it. It's a clear message.
@prologic @fox I think that the new Dockerfile had some changes in entrypoint/cmd and broke my server setup. Everything is fine now I hope. I've really busy last months. But I'll keep it running as far I can.
@prologic hi! I got your mail. Thanks for worrying. It really matters to me.
Sorry to be away for so long. I got into many problems/projects at same time and let yarn a little.
I'll come back soon. Anyway my server is back with the last hub version.
Miss you all!
@adi thanks for sharing. I'll check one.
@adi I have about 5K posts. Everything I posted from many silos since 2008.\nRebuild everything on every new post is just crazy. And waste of power and energy.\nSo I'm changing the generator script to rebuild only the changed part. And the ones affected by thia change.
@adi First, I speak Shell and don't speak Go (sorry @prologic).\nSecond, I can script every single aspect of generation. So I can do a lot of condicionals and loops. And can do a partial build, which, for me, is a killer feature.
@adi @prologic IMHO, the problem is to share this info with big fata companies. There is no problem if you keep it for yourself. It's even legal under GDPR. It applies only if the data is involved in profit. No regulations to personal sites logs. 😜
@jlj @prologic I liked this idea. And the search feature will be distributed/federated too?
@prologic Nops. Exactly the opposite. And I loved the new fork feature.
@prologic \n2. It's hard to reply/cite/follow anything that isn't on my own pod. Maybe add a "Reply in your own pod/Follow in your own pod" for not logged users, like Mastodon does?
@prologic If I may suggest two things I getting trouble using a self-hosted pod:\n1. When someone on other pod which I don't follow reply a conversation, I don't get the answer unless I click to see the thread on the other pod. Maybe my pod could update the thread on the original pod?
@adi @eldersnake We had a CP200 earlier. Maybe in 1984 (yes I was 5, but IDK why I remember). CP200 was a Brazilian clone of Sinclair ZX81. And the manufacturer was, believe or not, a company called Prológica. @prologic
I'm using webmentions.io. I can pull them with no trouble. The point is to show them. And I'm using indiekit which already have Twitter integration. I use brid.gy to syndicate back instagram/twitter.
@adi Yes! Very cool. Hope to be in showcase very soon.
@adi @prologic almost as possible. I'm fixing some wrong semantics, broken CSS and small things. But my goal is to be fully compatible with the old Hugo site. Of course the main problem is the post kinds and the webmentions.
@adi @eldersnake I was 8. And making some programs in BASIC on an Apple II computer. But I would see some networking only in late 90s.
@adi I am! But not validated yet. Hoping the brl/usd rates fall down a little to become an arpa member. I am really curious about their plan9 hosting too.
Hey all again. \n@https://twtxt.net/user/prologic/twtxt.txt> I updated #yarnd to last version (1dcc5aed I hope) from Docker Hub. Everything looks to run fine till now.\n@https://twtxt.net/user/adi/twtxt.txt> I'm still rewriting my site to #mkws but it's more complex than I thought.\nSorry about the long time away. Too much work, trouble and depression.
I like this play\n\nstaytown\nnicefired\nopenless\nseekhelp\nmeanwall\nplanfrom\n\nNames for indie bands. Or a new startup.
@mckinley That's the good part of using a dictionary! You can broaden the possibilities exponentially.\nI remade the wordlist to include 4 chars words. It took less than a minute to calc the 2 addresses (with nice names) and 8 characters: highhead and welltake.
@prologic @dooven @antonio nothing really. I use a lot and couldn't find the original repository. The Google play app is registered to Daven Casia, but I couldn't find him either.
@mckinley The command line is: mkp224o -n 2 -N 2 -f words2.txt
\n-n
the number of keys we want to generate\n-N
the number of filter words we want to match\nMy old 6 core is burning!
@mckinley maybe https://github.com/cathugger/mkp224o worth a shot?\nThe -N
option tries to fit n keys from the filter. I made a list with about 600 words with 5 or more chars. I'm running it right now and post the results as soon as it finishes.
Are the Goryon developer still around?
@jlj @adi sincerely, in mine, everything is under /matrix
@mckinley @adi I'm not so sure that I am a human. But I read what you post. I really liked your post about documents not being apps and got mad with my bloat score.
@lohn @adi @jlj --config-directory
will hold the crypto keys, the log config and eventually other future configs.\n--data-directory
will hold the PID, the database (of you use SQLite), and the media store.
@adi @jlj (#choqthq) Ok, I removed the dust from my python install and made some tests.\nYou have to use --config-directory
and --data-directory
when generate config or it will fallback to current dir.
@adi @jlj I'm guessing by memory. As I meant before I use the spantaleev ansible version because I'm lazy.
@adi @jlj I'm not so sure, but the -c
doesn't have to be --config-path
?
@adi I'm planning a some years to make a full arm trash polka. It could be one element of it.
@adi also I think I'll make a tattoo of this quote.
@adi you deserve it! I wish I could help more. But, well, things are really bad around here.
@movq I don't know if you like it, but on gog.com there is a DRM-Free remaster (basically a new port) of this game. It even runs on Linux.
@adi @prologic (#cwhcryq) I don't bother to wake up early. You only will have to see me with a coffee mug.
@maya is so fantastic that she can make posts from the future!\n
@lohn @adi @mckinley I'm feeling stupid now. I went to read the lab6 magazine and that exactly what they talk about. Sorry to be too impulsive in my answer.
@adi @mckinley (#fdcebha)\nThat reminds me the Ubuntu Magazine. An open publication about an open system. And their pubs were gorgeous. But you could only read on PC. We can't even extract the text to create a text-only version to read on cell phones or e-reader. (the content was CC-BY)
@adi @mckinley (#fdcebha)\nLet me put my unasked 2 cents. PDF is an awesome format. For printing. Not for reading. It practically attaches you to read on a big screen or a not-so-eco-friendly printed version. I know it's a hard choice. But, maybe, make some epub version too?
@prologic Oh. Even not being too chatty (mostly because my english still sucks), I wish I could be there.\nBut this time was about 6 of the morning. If you announce with some antecedence I could try to be online (and awake 😴😴😴)
@prologic go still looks like greek to me yet. I'm still too attached to scripted languages and their so called simplicity. But I know nothing can compare to robust language like go.
@prologic YES! I didn't know how to call it. Exactly it. Sometimes the conversation become too long and any answer doesn't make sense anymore. Then I'll manually change the conversation reference. Is this ok? There is any harms?
@adi @prologic I recompiled. Better don't put bash where they made for dash. It's running like a charm now.\nAbout the frontmatter, the problem is the arrays. Do you have any suggestion on that? This is the only bash-only feature now, I think.
