Because of all the sanctions and more, one of my favorite websites has made a sanctions tracker [Live monitoring of all sanctions against Russia (corrective.org)](https://correctiv.org/en/latest-stories/2022/03/01/sanctions-tracker-live-monitoring-of-all-sanctions-against-russia/)
@prologic And? It caused quite some trouble when I posted this at work… trouble in the sense of “Likes” and people who agree with it and other people who probably are the ones who are writing requirements. :-)
@screem it does. Just found that your social page is pointing to 404
@screem Looks good to me and also to https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.sheldonjsmith.com/nzoqVEM5/ - Now it needs some content, which reminds me myself to fill in my /uses page...
@justamoment Welcome to the #Yarniverse
As I was talking this morning about how to write good, proper requirements for colleagues, I remembered this video which I want to share with you: How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct-lOOUqmyY - Have a good weekend.
Just discovered this fine trance music channel Driving Music with #ASOT from Armin van Buuren and #TSOH from Ruben de Ronde #Musik
@prologic Beheeive also available on uberspace https://lab.uberspace.de/guide_beehive.html @ullarah
@ullarah I do run some automated stuff. I am grabbing a new wallpaper for every morning at 0600hrs so that I have something new to look at when the alarm goes off.
@screem click here https://mailbox.org/en/security#data-protection and scroll up a bit to look out for three big green boxes "Guard", "Mailvelope", and "The Encrypted inbox".
@screem am using mailbox.org for quite some time now, like 3 years or so. Happy with the service, speed and more. I do not really have emails encrypted as I store important stuff locally in other formats and delete them if not needed.
@screem For Tutanota look at this https://www.cyberscoop.com/court-rules-encrypted-email-tutanota-monitor-messages/ and their canary report https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/transparency-report/ . Mailbox.org it self has a transparency report too https://mailbox.org/en/company#transparency-report 2/2
@screem I think they are the same as all the others. Here is something about your Protonmail

2021, ProtonMail: ProtonMail logged IP address of French activist after an order by Swiss authorities. Source. 1/2
@screem me trying to use Signal for all and everything. I also switched from gmail ( a long time ago which caused some troubles as I forgot to update that address in a couple places ) to mailbox.org and I am a bit hesitate if I should move over to a paid Tutanota account? I also use Threema for some people.
@jlj yarnd has a -t option to point to a theme dir. The original can just be cloned from the git repo or copied from a sub dir after you run yarnd (iirc)
Security experts say Ukraine's request to shut down Russian domains could hurt civilians - ICANN has not answered yet. IMHO I don't think it is a good idea to shut down DNS rot servers in Russia. I share the concerns and think it would harm the civilian people. They should be able to see what is happening the world. They should be able to see what Putin is doing to others and their country and why others are putting up sanctions.
@novaburst naja I have set it up as a test first and then later to give something back to the fediverse in hosting one to give people an alternative if they want to.
@ullarah @jlj you can also change it directly in the SVG file. There is the width and height and also the viewBox property. Try to match those. Maybe that helps. /haven't looked at yours though

@prologic That is a nice service. Bookmarked it.
It is Putin who is the aggressor, not the people who make websites. And yes, I know, there are also bad guys, but many people who do business rely on that. I think that's a bit too much.
I think it is a fair price. Do you really need 2 TB? Maybe first, you can start with a bit less and upgrade as you need?
I am really think to move from TiddlyWiki to WikiJS - a personal Knowledge Base is nice, but TiddlyWiki is ok, but, the way WikiJS looks, and the multiply editors make it a fascinating personal knowledge base system. What do you use?
I found something while making backups... could be true :-)
Sitting in bed, enjoying some flips (Chips, Cheetos you name it) and watching tv show while making backup of my Laptop before I might buy a new one...
Finally! This took quite some time. It seemed to be impossible to figure out why the database was always seen as a directory. But now it works. #filebrowser
Struggling with creating a docker-compose file. Until I found that one little tiny special character 'l' (el) which was not a lowercase L but something else. AaarrRrrrggG
Ui - I found homer https://github.com/bastienwirtz/homer which looks quite nice. Writing my configuration for it right now
@prologic Speaking of Gorion, is there a chance to get a new invitation for the FlightTest? The one I have is invalid.
@novaburst It is ok. Sometimes feels like supervisorctl or system.d, right? :-)
@prologic makes sense, maybe we can introduce put a cookie or some other hint onto the website where you were before refresh?
Time to go to bed! Bloons Tower Defense 6 - Lynch Weekly Challange #btd6
@prologic I think that is ok with me. I then need to remember to mention them.
unfortunately the An-225 Mriya will not fly anymore. It seems to be destroyed.
Question: when I just reply to a yarn post, without mentioning the person, does that person or the people will get a notification? Will they just see my post when they un-yarn the thread?

No insta popcorn. We just have the corn seeds. A big pot, some oil, sugar, and then let it go. Butter is a good tip. Will try next time as we still have many seeds left.
@david I am getting hungry again here... 😂
No, this was at home. But IPA did not kill them, so I had to use old grandma's recipe: vinegar with water.
@david yam yam yam. That looks delicious. We had soup with sweet potatous. It tasted very good but the smell was aweful. There was a spice that I probably do not buy again.
Self made popcorn! I like it, but it is not as good as in the cinemas.
Meanwhile, here: Making progress in learning Go. Almost finished with the CLI booking app tutorial from Techworld with Nana https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyUHQIec83I
Oki doki.
Trump is just as bad as Putin is. They don't deserve any friendly words anymore. Quote: *He is “pretty smart,” Mr. Trump said on Wednesday at a Florida fund-raiser, assessing the impending invasion like a real estate deal. “He’s taken over a country for $2 worth of sanctions,” he said, “taking over a country — really a vast, vast location, a great piece of land with a lot of people — and just walking right in.”* https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/24/world/europe/trump-putin-russia-ukraine.html*
And while I was writing the last post, Putin puts nuclear forces on alert. I really feel afraid. He has done so bad with all the orders of troops that he is acting like a kid which does not get his candy. Crazy crazy shit which makes me really nervous
One of the best analysis I have read in the last couple days. *Chartbook #68 Putin's Challenge to Western hegemony - the 2022 edition.* — He believes that the West should negotiate with Russia, Putin does not really want to invade Ukraine. Hopefully he's right - and it's not too late yet.
That is indeed a good piece. Also works quite well on mobile.
*The health impacts of war do not stop with trauma from the fighting. Crude estimates suggest that for each person killed directly by war, nine will be killed indirectly—although much will depend upon the nature of the conflict and the underlying conditions for health in the countries in which it is fought.* — https://www.bmj.com/content/376/bmj.o499
Good Morning. A sunny day in The Hague is waiting for us.
So, we are done for today. The last two days were pretty busy. We had to clean up the whole kitchen because of some unwanted ☹ visitor that joined us with the flour we recently have bought. But now all kitchen cabinets are re-organized, cleaned and disinfected. I have only seen a few of the beast this morning. Hoping that IPA will kill them, so we can insert the drawers again. During the cleanup, we found many Tupperware boxes and stuff that we do not need. At least what I think. #She thinks a bit different about that. Maybe a flower bouquet will solve that 😁.
😲 omg - good luck @ullarah
@prologic 👍👍👍
@screem @prologic on the other hand it is Putin who has built his reign of Yes-saying followers and is backed up by a lot Oligarchs. On the other hand, we buy Gas and other things from Russia that in return he uses against Europe to destabilize democracy. He is much more afraid of Democracy than anything else. He needs his system and no other. When Russian speaking people in other countries learn the benefits from living in democratic states, they will tell others. A lot of young Russian people are leaving their country. All the reasons for the war against are bullshit.
Have a read here as well https://www.dw.com/en/hybrid-war-in-ukraine-began-before-russian-invasion/a-60914988 Russian cyberwar started long ago against former Sowjet states. Now, we Europeans, are taking it a “bit” more seriously. I am sad to say that I feel a ashamed of Germany when it comes to IT. We are still so 2000’ish in many places.
Good morning. Third day of #war in the #Ukraine. I feel bad and really sad about the situation. I really hope that’s this will end bad for the crazy Russian called Putin. And I really hope, Zelensky and a all the others will survive this fight of brothers and sisters. I hope the Russian people will go out and protest more and more. It is not easy for them too to do this.
@lyse that’s a nice one yes. Super round
@prologic I am looking for a like button here.
Jaja, these Russians. A lot of fake stuff is spread. Journalists debunked a Russian orchestrated fake Ukrainian terrorist attack https://glasnostgone.org/2022/02/22/in-ukraine-russia-uses-corpses-in-false-flag-attack/ (Warning, sensitive images and dead body parts)
Done! Now we are on the way back. Feeling good so far. Glad that I have Homeoffice tomorrow. You never know. My colleague just said that he isn’t feeling anything yet and is afraid that he only got saltwater :-)
@david we are good. After the first dose (Janssen) I was like a hero and had a lot of energy. Cleaned the whole garden and everything the day after. After the second dose (Corminaty) there was almost nothing. Just the normal things where you get hit with the needle. I can say for myself, that I am fine with all the vaccines I got in my life. But yes, people react different.
@jan6 sure, sure. The Creative Commons license image, yes I know. I was secretary of a small club couple years ago and had to create flyers and leaflets. Animated gif in wallpaper size? Not sure, I would have to search for that.
Twitter said, the account were blocked by mistake and they are doing their best to unlock them again. There was also human error involved in this and there is no indication that Russian bots did a mass reporting. Who knows. https://www.theverge.com/2022/2/23/22947769/twitter-osint-russia-ukraine-invasion-suspended-error
@<~duriny https://envs.net/~duriny/twtxt.txt> oh ha. I think I know what you mean. And I agree. Fuck!
Good afternoon! On our way to the doc! Getting the third dose, the real booster now. Finally we can.
@jan6 have you ever seen any of your colleagues or family members doing this? I have not! And I am working in a shop with 10 people. They all use Google and just form sentences like "when was barack obama born" "where was the last outbreak of ebola in africa" or "who was playing that weird guy with the grey hair in that movie about cars driving from west to east" etc.
@jan6 Fully agree to this. I love DDG bangs and the ability to search somewhere else fast and easy. For the "normal non-tech-savvy people" Google is the *defacto standard* as it is the default engine in many programs. Even in Firefox and other browser or apps. Searx is a small and self-hosted solution, which many people don't even know. And for others, Facebook is the Internet.
That's not that much. I would love to buy an electric car, but it is very expensive here in the Netherlands. Even a small Opel Corsa-e with some minor extras is around 37000 Euros incl. taxes. And the next problem would be, even if we have like 20 charging boxes around the neighborhood, back in Germany the charging stations are very rare. Stupid Germans with their fax devices and petrol cars.
Lol. When you access it via Tor, you get a security warning. Are they afraid of something?

@darch thats a good one. I just used one of the memes. https://thecodinglove.com/when-someone-starts-talking-about-work-during-my-lunch-break
Good Morning everyone. A wonderful day at the office. Tomorrow will be even better when we will get our third dose. The real booster this time.
What does the title even mean? It makes no sense in German. And I hope it is just a hype as his stupid News from the front desk idea.
@david is right, @mutefall . I came across a couple of days ago, don't know why or what the initial reason was, but I really like it. And while I was playing with Docker I just set it up on my home lab and later on my shared-server, and now I am running my own pod open for more people.
@prologic Drive careful. We had not much rain today which was nice. I saw some light at the end of the clouds :-)
@prologic What is wrong with that guy?
@david yes, yes Dutch. I do it every night before going to bed or falling asleep. I need to keep my streak active. So, as it is late, it is some time to learn some Dutch.

How Bots and Fake Accounts Push China’s Vision of Winter Olympic Wonderland https://www.propublica.org/article/how-bots-and-fake-accounts-push-chinas-vision-of-winter-olympic-wonderland
If you feel it would be better not to ruin the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics, then wait a bit before recognizing the self-proclaimed separatist territories and invading "peacekeeping troops". But maybe Putin just waited for Xi Jinping's blessing. Because who wants to spoil the Chinese's fancy closing ceremony of completely overpriced and bots- and fake-account-fueled Winter Games? No, no, no, Putin doesn't want to do that. So he waited dutifully and did it only one day later. Pretty clever, Putin.
@novaburst I totally anderstand him. I dont like it either, but it is the way they have choosen to got
Security Questionnaire
@ullarah Hey you over there on the other side. You have my attention... after lunch 😁
Step 3: 25 February: *On Friday 25 February we will take the final step. From then, opening times will return to normal ... On 15 March the government will evaluate the remaining rules including the face mask requirement for public transport, the pre-admission testing requirement (1G) and the advice on working from home.* https://www.government.nl - This is good and bad.
so. good night guys. see you tomorrow.
hope you both do fine. we will get third this week.
@david i hate it. sometimes you really don’t see the tree because of the forest.
Advanced to a new league!
OMG! I should look more carefully at my docker-compose files. I had a type in "letsencrypt" writing it always "letsencrpyt". And I wonder why my container does not use the correct volumes and creates weird ones on its own.
@prologic I will have a look at this, but I don't know when I will be able to actually start working on it. But it sounds like a fun project to do.
@prologic wow thats a prett big thing, isn't it? But it is a start I guess. What I know so far from the TechStack is a bit of Docker, a bit of Golang and Git. Mithril I have looked at last week when you shared the link. That looks nice. And, did you just come up with this or is this something you already did in the past?
@david ok. didn't know that. When I do that, I paste the link and a couple hashtags and a short introduction text. When I need to search, I open the txtfile and search in there. Works so far as I have a bookmark in the bookmark bar. So it is cross browser and cross device :-)
@david your welcome. And it makes me happy that is was of use for someone.
Back at home. After a long day of working enjoying some quality time with my better half :-). Cooking, eating, drinking, talking.
@david I do see this, as I have another feed running, also as a bookmarking service and to get to know new people. And I always wanted something like this, I think. And you're right when it comes to the services itself. Most of them just talk about them self. So I like it here with you not only talking about the service itself.
Just sharing this with the world: A Proper Server Naming Scheme https://mnx.io/blog/a-proper-server-naming-scheme/
@prologic Yes it is. We all want to surround ourselves with interesting people, don't we? Sadly, not all of us get the chance to do that in the real world. You're tied to your family by blood, and while other people are your friends for a reason (meaning you should get on with them extremely well) that doesn't mean they'll have anything particularly exciting to say. And some of us want to be heard and read. That's why people write blogs in the first place, don't they?
I really like the new buttons and the about page. Looks nice and clean. #yarn
@prologic I am open for suggestions so I can motivate myself a bit to learn go?
@david yeah, might be true.
I am still confused on how to name my devices. Even after reading both articles here https://coderwall.com/p/1l5utg/how-to-name-your-servers and here https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc1178
