@mckinley gotcha, so similar to how the nav elements are styled now on twtxt.net?

Actually if you look closely the icons are more yellow and the link text are orange, but I can try to make a version of the two first theme where icons and accent are the same or vrey close to the same color.
@mckinley oh you mean just the icons? Would that be the main text like the twts or do you mean the accent/link color?
@eaplmx thanks, yeah I also like the freshness of the blue/magenta the most. It is the the default light colors of simple.css and very similar to my colorscheme on blog.neotxt.dk 😉
@mckinley thank you:) you meen if there was no accent color so it would be all monochrome?

The only difference between 2nd and 4th is the accent, but you mean to have a light version with orange accent?
I have been hacking away on replacing the PicoCSS with Simple.css, since it offer a much manageable set of color variables that can ease the work of making your own team a whole lot.

I have gotten to a place now with some sane default colors, so you are welcome to take it for a spin from: https://git.mills.io/yarnsocial/yarn/src/branch/theme_simpleCSS

There are still some issues with the mobile menu and some side-effects of using headers in places it should not have been used in the first place.

Please let me know if this is something that you see worthy of being merged into main and what you like or dislike about it as it stands now.

@tkanos Cool idea
@prologic can you jump on IRC and help me merge the two brances?
@prologic so if pull down main again it should work?
@prologic I'm trying to set up a new branch for replacing pico.css with simple.css but then i get this error when trying to build/make:

Checking Go version ...                 [ ERR ]
Go 1.16+ is required, found go1.19.1
FATAL: 🙁 preflight failed
make: *** [preflight] Error 1
There is also the other kind of bots, that we do stuff when you for example @metion them or use use a specific #tag in you posts. Have anyone made something like that for text or could I be part of a yarn pod to script these kind of bots?
@prologic would this be a way to hosting private feeds? I had this idea to use SSH for private feeds some time ago instead of encrypting eatch twt in the txt
@abucci try: don't care about cookies
Go_A — SHUM | Midsommar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rscMgutgwf8
@prologic any inputs?
@prologic yup i seen it
@prologic How would I go about adding a new element to the template-folder within a theme?
I want to make a topnav like i created on blog.neotxt.dk but would like to put it in a sepearet file topnav.html and not within /template/base.html or partials.html
Can I just add a {{ define "topbar" }} in topnav.html or do I need to do something special for yard to pick it up?
@prologic in Denmark it is legal, but not in Sweden or Norway afaik cc: @stigatle
there are also some good options at: https://alternativeto.net/software/doodle/?platform=self-hosted
Looks good:
@prologic there is already a poll app on: https://webxdc.org/
So I guess it would not take too much work adding timezone suppor (or i'm sure Tom Scott would disagree)
@prologic I think we could use deltachats new decentralising app format for it: https://delta.chat/en/2022-06-14-webxdcintro
@prologic it's called e-mail
@lyse you were talking about openGL just when I joined also
@lyse and the URL?
@prologic whitch is?
Here is a doodle for picking a time this weekend for our video call https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/e3lBX7Ra
@prologic woops missed the part about me managing it
@prologic what is the time again in UTC?
@prologic and others, video call tomorrow/tonight?
@mckinley Doodle is a tool for ageening on a time for meeting by voting in the times they got time. https://doodle.com/meeting/organize/groups
@prologic Yeah I imaging that could be an issue living closer to the Date Line. Would it make something like a doodle each week to see who would be up for meeting at what time and the we can adjust it?
@prologic and @abucci any chance we can have the video call on Sunday UTC, since i'm ofter busy on Satuday mornings? I'm I Denmark so same timezone as our German and Norwegian friends
@prologic The numbers on yarn.social seem to be back to normal now. But for me it is very appreciated that you pull the numbers of active user from my pod. What counts as a active user?
@screem try this https://www.vultr.com/marketplace/apps/yarn/ (what I'm using for neotxt.dk ;) and it sets me back USD 7.69 each month
@prologic if it to be removed, then yarn should not hide the (tags) in these posts as well as collapsing them into treads as is the case now:
- https://neotxt.dk/twt/jouh5xa
- https://neotxt.dk/twt/yy3cr5q
- https://neotxt.dk/twt/dja53eq
- https://neotxt.dk/twt/wovpq6a
@prologic og yeahbthat makes sense
@prologic can we make it an poderator or user option to show/hide the (#hash) again?
still no yarn/conversation button
how its this for yarning
now with a hashtag
(Channal1) hmm something seem broken with yarn.social here...
(Channal1) one two, one two
(Channal1) testing testing
@movq Chould “Traditional Human-Readable Topics” be used for something like channels like:
- (events)
- (morning-coffee)
- (Yarn-Dev)
hi @myway and welcome to my pod in the yarnsphere
@eaplmx twtxt is the protocol used by Yarn.social, which is an app you can install. See instructions on https://yarn.social , https://dev.twtxt.net/ and https://twtxt.readthedocs.io
@prologic @lyse but they are all tail...đŸ€”
isn't it just similar to how Mastodon is the bigger user of ActivityPub and Element the bigger user of Matrix, and so on and so on.
@prologic i tried to fork it, but got bad request again. I was replying to @andreottica who I believe also made a profile on your pod
@prologic both links for Android does not work/is not updated
@prologic what's "Convergence" ?

Goodbye Facebook. Hello Decentralized Social Media?__
https://archive.org/details/goodbye-facebook-hello-decentralized-social-media
Just hacking on a new responsive menu layout
next level would be to only ofter your content via RSS: https://shinobi.website/index.txt

> A shinobi website is a text-based, RSS focused blogging "system". I put the word system in quotes since it's really just a simple bash script that converts plain text files into an RSS feed. So, it isn't an actual blogging platform or website in the traditional sense.
@eaplmx there are stateless rss-readers, that only shows you a list of feeds, and no indication about if it have been "read" or not. I'm using moonmoon at the moment, but I hope that yarn.social some day will be my stateless reader for everything
@rrraksamam you can only delete or edit your last post. But if you delete you latest post, you can then edit/delete the second to last. Also if you selfhost your twtxt.txt (like I do at http://darch.dk/twtxt.txt ), you can just edit it whenever you want to. But this will break replies/treads because it based on the content of the message, and not just the URL+datetime as defined in https://dev.twtxt.net/doc/twtsubjectextension.html
@prologic It could be nice if we could toggle flat view from the timeline
Pruned the cach at cloudflare and re-minified the yarn.min.js file seemed to do the trick.
But now i get the "bad request" error again when i try to post via https://neotxt.dk/conv/qwpx7la to (#qwpx7la)
Got it working now via opera's vpn
@retrocrash
dunno... right now it seem i broke the CSS as well. how does neotxt.dk look at your end? it might be cloudflare caching that's the issue...
Adding bookmark and avatar to my pods top-nav (but i can't upload images...)
@prologic Been watching his video from some time now - cool stuff.
@marado I kinda implemente twtxt comment on this site: http://algorave.dk/bbs/
So I created a new issue on the matter of Multi-level navigations for making space for Lists and better UX #954 with a little quick mock-up of where I would like to see the various nav-elements:
@ullarah i read "beer" nap - still havn't had my coffee (it's 7am here)
@eaplmx that sound very expensive. But using a vultr VPS running the yarn app and cloudflaire can be set up fairly easy. The more pods the better 😃
@novaburst Thank you for that 👍
How to upgrade yarn.social running as a vultr app:

- download the latest binary from https://git.mills.io/yarnsocial/yarn/releases
- systemctl stop yarnd.service
- cd /usr/bin/local
- cp yarnd yarnd_old
- upload yarnd to /usr/bin/local
- chmod +x yarnd
- reboot

Enjoy!
@prologic maybe, but i doubt that is what happens all the time. Often it keeps the draft text from some other "session" if that makes sense and I have a suspension that this might be part of the problem. Like the hidden (#txthash) messing things up, maybe a JS-issue... CC: @ullarah
@prologic i meant "reply"
@prologic I hope to upgrade sometime this coming week. (Same thing for this reply - i need to copy/paste the twthash to avoid the bad request-error and creat a new post from the frontpage instead of in the conversation view)
So to post this is had to copy/past the twthash manually
@prologic Do you mean to just refresh the page in the browser? Because I have tried it and it does not work. It seem to only happen when I try to replay
.
Why do I get Bad request when I try to reply to posts/yarn-treads?
Like this one: https://neotxt.dk/conv/jp2bwta
@prologic signed up. Now I just hope I will wake up that early on Saturday 😃
@prologic let me know if you need any clarifications :)
@ullarah and @prologic Here are my ideas for a datamodel and UI for lists aka
categorisation of feeds/users: https://git.mills.io/yarnsocial/yarn/issues/937#issuecomment-11967
@prologic Cool, that should be doable (7AM CEST)
@ullarah I will do that👍
@prologic What time of day/night is our next video call? I got some cents to add to your discussion on the list-feature aka Categorisation of feeds/users https://git.mills.io/yarnsocial/yarn/issues/937#issuecomment-11846
@prx sure. My "band" hangs out on algorave.dk and a good friend in a jazz thing called kalaiido
@prx nice I will give this a go an maybe integrate into #pixelblog on github
@mckinley see https://neotxt.dk/twt/cfovyhq where I list some that I been trying out.
Cool, is this someting that cane be used like dropbox?
@prologic seem like twtxt.net does not whiteliste neotxt.dk as of yet
@prologic Thank you, and this is how it looks for my (2-4?) users:
@ullarah Thanks, yes, that was just what I was looking for👍
@ullarah Like on your pod you have set what looks like --primary to an orange color event for people not having an account there.
@ullarah yes I did that already 😉 but I'm talking about people who just come across my pod and are not logged in. Can I use the custom CSS field to show other than the default pico/yarn colours to them?
@prologic and @ullarah is there an easy/propper way of changed the CSS colour scheme for users not logged into your pod? I'm currently on yarn 0.13 running in the vultr app
@prologic also fine with me
@prologic so it shoud be set to "Proxied" and not "DNS only" in cloudflare?!
yeah, I'm having some issues with minifying the CSS compared to running my in dev-mode
@prologic hmm that's exactly what I tied but it didn't work... That is the IP without the port number đŸ€”
@prologic thanks for the hĂŠds up
