München Graggenauer Viertel.

Graggenauer Viertel
@lyse I noticed the missing space today, so that’s a recent change. And yes, I agree, the profiles need some love.
@lyse I think it is the Vienna State Opera House, but not absolutely sure.
Slightly on topic, the changes---albeit minimal, as @prologic once told me---that *yarnd* makes on the uploaded images are so visible! On my mobile and desktop, the image is crispy, and more colour rich.
😬 Oh boy, let the Black Friday shopping begin! ☑️ Apple AirPods Pro (3rd generation), $160 on Amazon.
@ullarah hahahaha! The history behind its name is interesting:

> "Spanish moss was given its name by French explorers. Native Americans told them the plant was called Itla-okla, which meant “tree hair.” The French were reminded of the Spanish conquistadors’ long beards, so they called it Barbe Espagnol, or “Spanish Beard.” The Spaniards got back at them by calling the plant Cabello Francés, or “French Hair.” The French name won out, and as time went by Spanish Beard changed to Spanish moss."
@movq I am surprised we haven’t seeing this one before.
Neat! Same building, different angle, 2012.

Vienna city centre
@ullarah let’s try them at 300 first. I believe @prologic is testing live on his production pod, let’s see how they look.
Spanish moss. Sorry for the portrait mode, only way to get them in their best “glory”.

Spanish moss
The “Elixir of the gods” was never sweet honey, alcohol, nor water from the holy grail. It was, as it has always been: pure olive oil. With garlic, if gods felt daring.
On 3, it is as evident as the screens I pasted above. 😊 Yet, they size isn’t as important as the fact they do not work. See number 2. 😩

@lyse certainly a sucker for Autumn leaves, and frost, and those colours… My walls collection is richer today thanks to you! 😍

Hmm, after watching it closer, yes, the drawer height is enough for the pieces.
@stackeffect if that’s truly a drawer, then it is—maybe—a checkers board? I think that what it looks like a drawer might be some locking/unlocking mechanism to fold the board. Or something like that. Or not. 😂
From IRC:

1. The font for the items on the hamburger menu (mobile) is too big (shows 20px on the inspector).
2. Icons do not that what the say they do. Clicking on edit does not edits, clicking on fork does not forks, clicking on reply does not replies.
3. Icons on twt commands (reply, delete, etc.) for mobile, and icons---and labels---for desktop are also too big.
If that doesn’t get fixed tonight, I will get them fixed tomorrow morning.
@xuu is that the latest master? It is supposed to be fixed. @ullarah added inline styles for it, I moved them to a CSS file.

I am not using them icons right now, because some other changes occurred that I don’t like, so I am waiting until those are fixed to try it.
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” — Vincent van Gogh.

Just a little of movie wisdom. I have an entire folder on Notes full of interesting quotes from movies of all kind.
@will hahaha! My son has a 13” MBP 2015, still going strong, not a single issue. Gone through many macOS iterations, currently on Monterey. Simply solid machines.
@prologic you will not believe how many I have watched with her because, you know, spending time together. As the saying goes, “a happy wife, a happy life”. LOL.
@prologic it was Enrique Peñalosa, an ex-major of Bogotá, Colombia.
@will on M1s, we got one (iMac), amazing machine. I am waiting to see if a 27” version comes out… soonish. If it doesn’t, I am going to get the 24”. Yeah, I am jelly. 🤣
Love Hard) might come across as cheese for many—I think it is a chick flick—but I liked it. I guess every once in a while, and after much trying, wife hits the target. 😂
“Una ciudad avanzada no es en la que los pobres pueden moverse en carro, sino una en la que incluso los ricos utilizan el transporte público.”

In English:

“An advanced city is not one where the poor can get around by car, but one where even the rich use public transportation.”
@prologic about:

> Why do you have ti be logged into an iCloud account for that to be a thing though

Security? So it knows which device gets what? At home we have three iMacs, two MBPs, three iPads, four iPhones, and one Apple TV. Oh, and five iCloud accounts.
@ullarah this is how mine looks like now, still using the old icons (and smaller font for twt actions):

Forty six Holidays/Christmas cards written—depending on the religiosity, or lack there of, of the addressee. My poor left hand is fairly tired, and my brain is drained (each message unique, and custom).

Thankfully that task is now completed. Till next year, that is. 😅
@will did you know you don’t need to airdrop (assuming that is what you were using when you said “Bluetooth share thing”). Between macOS and an iOS, both logged in with the same iCloud account, you simply copy and paste bidirectionally.

Universal Clipboard for the win! 😊
@quark what are you doing twting? Shouldn’t you be closing deals, and making profits?💰😂
@homer I also think the items are too close to each other. It would lead to misstaps.
@ullarah you wrote:

> Would it be so bad if I just hid the text labels on mobile web?

It will not work for *Edit*, *Reply* and *Fork*. Try clicking on those, but just the icon, and you will see.
I also love 02. The posted and that one are my favourites.
@lyse I love it! What I would give to run through that field…! Oh boy. 😍
@lyse LOL. OK, OK, maybe they were bad examples. The aim was to show how customisable date/timestamp can be made. 😊
@lyse it is $92 USD on Amazon. Made in China which, at this point (and sadly), it is obvious.

It is a nice, but rather expensive, lamp.
@movq this is the article. It is about Australia, written by an addiction psychiatrist based in Sydney. It is an article about the issue in Australia, but it is not saying that Australia’s problem is bigger than it is anywhere else. It simply state what seems to be a fact.

It doesn’t get into politics. It is merely a superficially medical commentary.

@ullarah there are some issues with your icon’s change on mobile web. It seems you also used inline styling on templates. 😬
@ullarah “It does rely on a woff iconfont if that is a deal breaker?” — if it is self hosted, nope.
@ullarah send a PR when you are finished. They look neat, I am sure @prologic wouldn’t mind them in the default theme.
@ullarah which icons are those? What new theme is this?
@prologic excellent! Will update tomorrow, already know bed here. LOL.
Meanwhile, of course, fixing the issue at hand will be great. 😊
@prologic I was talking about this:

1. I might want to use “21 Nov 2021, 21:19”
2. @lyse might want to use 2021-11-21, 21:19”
3. You might want to use “November 21, 2021, 9:12AM”

Give us the ability to use date/time template variables to accommodate for any potential use case, just like Hugo does.

“**Götterdämmerung**” — German is so fucking sexy.
@will that applies to the life of just about any country I have been to, and those I have lived on (four in total).

Whoever wrote that for *The Guardian* is so lost. Or… it’s just trolling. 😂
Why don’t we get away from humanised date, and simply allow the pod’s owner set their own date/time format?

The humanised one is broken, as of now.
The root twt is from Saturday, 2 October 2021. I was the one who brought up a potential upload issue, and I have been around a little over a month.

Still it reads 1y ago. That is what I am referring about.
There is something wrong here, @prologic. There is no way this happened 1 year ago. A little over a month ago? Yes.
Or Arch Linux logo. I am not sure. Just recalling from memory.
@antonio if it is upside down, it looks like the Ansible logo, no?
@prologic well done. It is not really high up my need wish list, honestly, but just a want.
@ionores I’ll call that progress! 😂 Woah! Joke aside, no good, no good at all.
@prologic it sure is, mate. It sure is.
@lyse hehehe, no, not on that rock. But Florida is pretty much reclaimed marshlands, and every “lake” has alligators, and a fair share of snakes.

There is also humans, the worse type of animals. His group of five is just kids like him, 20-21 years old. And kids, well, they also do stupid things. Anyway, I will worry, but I will not be around forever, and he must learn. It is just that, as a father, I worry the bejesus out of it. 😥
@movq how long have you had that NUC? We have those at our university to drive digital signage (connected to LCD televisions).
@movq I know what you mean. There is not a stop there, we were in the road (96) and liked the scenery so much that got off road just to take a picture.
Boy going camping tomorrow for three days; girl has zero interest. I know I have a problem, but every time either of my children go away for a few days, or far, I worry big time, and remain worried until I see them back home.

So, here come three days of fun—not! 😬
@ionores I know. Damn Microsoft, and their shitty OS! 😂
I am sure I need not to say, but Bavaria is simply beautiful. We loved it!
@movq not too much. Below the original.

@lyse additionally, the Staufeneck castle caught my attention---first I heard of it---and wow! Since 1080! Certainly a place too keep on list (hotel and all), should I ever be in the area. 👌🏻
@lyse nice and fresh weather. With that kind of temperatures I could stand a full sunshine, no problem. 😊
Actually, cancel that. Tell her is it around #cf4a51 on the light side, and around #8f2224 on the darker side. 😂 Teach'em early, teacher young!

@prologic yes, as @lyse wrote, I see no pink at all on that flower. It is red (one of its many tones).
@lyse “the best neighbors are those who you never see and hear” OMG! 😂😂😂
@prologic first time I see sugar cane mulch. In here it is normally pine, and oak. Of course, there is also rubber mulch (from recycled tyres), pebbles, stones, etc.

On the holes you made, they are also so that the plants roots do not rotten. Water is absorbed, but overflow must drain otherwise it's trouble.
@thecanine try it and find out! I have the feeling they will not be transparent after upload, but haven’t tested it.
🚨🚨🚨 😂😂😂
@prologic digress you did. 😂 We are talking about user submitted media. Nothing else.
@prologic nope, no spinner.
@eldersnake we are all users, whether we run a pod or not ☺️.

I am sure the “usual social media alternatives” are quite thoughtful. On my experience, Twitter does a decent job on what it accepts (format and size wise), and the resultant file after upload.

Of course, we wouldn’t be on this yarn if there were a slightly broader support for graphic formats, namely animated GIFs. 😂
@prologic so, I write the “epic” request? If so, will send it in on my tomorrow. 👊🏻
@prologic yes, I remember that. It was me who recommended to be dropped. Your avatar was a dot because of it. 😂
@prologic I am surprised there aren’t more! How many accounts are there on your pod (active or not, just a total)?
@prologic it could be handy. Not everything is photos, videos, and sounds. 😊
@prologic yeah, I am guilty of forgetting each place is different, even in the States! In general we have relatively decent connectivity. Flat fee traffic is also a thing.
@prologic all valid points, for certain specific situations. As the aim is to cater for everyone then my approach wouldn’t have been appropriate.

I know I can host my own files and link them, but that is out of the way, and not as handy as doing all through the web interface.
What say you, @prologic? I know it could be tricky. Maybe a pod owner setting? Anyway, food for thoughts.
@ullarah GIFs do work, animated ones do not. I think that it would be better to simply allow uploads so any type of files can be used without modifications (other than changing the name, just like it is done now).

That would allow the upload of text files, PDF, and just about any type of files. Animated GIFs would dance then! 😊
@ullarah or "Say something first, mon!" 😅 I know, I know, I can't help it. I am rather pedantic.
@prologic Porshe's look is iconic. They look nice, they drive exquisitely, but when they break---and I have a friend who owns four who tells me they break more often than a regular "worker's car"---they are very expensive to fix. Also to service. Then again, if one can afford to buy one, one hopes the maintenance is cake. Right? Right?

@thecanine “How does putting it into a paper bag make it that much better?” I am not saying I agree, or that they make sense, I am saying what it is. I don’t make the rules. 😂
@lyse “ alcohol is much more dangerous than guns” it is here, we all drive! 😩😂
@thecanine drinking in public is illegal in the States, unless the can/bottle is concealed inside a paper bag. You will not see people driving in a park, unless they are hobos or hillbillies.

@prologic I always add a verbiage before any photos, and add a line in between it and the photo itself.
@prologic hopefully she beat you! Paraphrasing Homer Simpson:

> I think the saddest day of my life was when I realized I could beat my Dad at most things, and my daughter [Bart] experienced that at the age of four.

😂😂😂
@darch I’ll take both beers, pass on the fags! Europe is still strong on smoking, eh? It has gone down big time in the States.
Based on the amount of burned incense, this one is busy!
