during the warm-up my legs felt so heavy. the first interval was a bit rough with the legs, but each interval afterwards was smooth. didn't actually feel too hard which is a great sign i think.

practiced a marathon pacing strategy (simulated) of 5km/10mi/10mi/5km. went pretty well even though i was going faster than the described paces at each step. but overall i felt good. also scouted out the two overpasses i will have to climb during the marathon. definitely nothing compared to the overpasses i regularly run over. freezing outside! i think it started at 33F and ending around 45F? pretty lonely run though because the cold kept people inside except for the crazies.

whoa this run felt great. seemed very low effort while the heart rate was relatively low with a nice pace. it was very cold out, 42F with a wind chill of 38F, but it didn't matter once the engine was going. unfortunately, halfway through the run code brown sirens were blaring and had to cut this short.

my ankle, achilles, and calves were fine walking but really tight the first three miles of the run. kept it light for the first half and then attempted marathon or slightly quicker pace. it was a little hard at times but comfortably discomfortable? all-in-all it was a pretty good run. on the last mile stretch a car pulled up i didnt recognize and i saw a hand waving but nothing else. they then sped off and did a u-turn and waved again but through tinted windows. ha, my bad for not knowing who it was or maybe they thought it was someone else. /shrugs

everything clicked today. kept a steady but mildly progressive pace whilst keeping the heart row in zone 2 for the most part. nothing felt strained and breathing was easy. this one was a great boost in confidence afterwards seeing the progress made in the training and very happy with it.

it was pouring with heavy winds when i woke up so i waited a bit for it to calm down before heading out. it was great until the rain stopped and the humidity came in which coincided with the ascent. overall it was a good session.

rough getting out of bed this morning. finally got a bit of rest though. the legs were just a little tight starting off but much tighter after the session. felt pretty good but slight sharp pain in left shoulder.

kept it chill and between 9:30 to 10:00 minutes per mile. the first half almost felt too easy. it wasn't until i had to go over the overpasses again where my legs started to actually feel it a bit. the leg back i would just "rope" people in and then slow down for a bit for a rest. this was a great confidence boost and a nice way to end the year.

was supposed to do hills but after the last few days of festivities and no sleep opted to swap for an easy run

whew, rough plan was 3 miles warm-up, then 1 mile on/off hopefully at 8:30 min/mile pace, then cool-down the rest of the way. little bit fast for some of the intervals, and boy that bridge wiped me out (that was the third one i think?). during the cool-down had to stop to find tissues to clear my sinuses and then i walked up the final bridge. not trying to kill myself being i still have parental duties with it being christmas eve and all. overall it was a great outing if i must say so.

kind of sucked. should have waited another day and give my body an actual rest because my legs were tired as fuck. did the park-to-park route which was cool. the second park was cool because it had a lot of walkways and a neat tower thing so did a bit of tourist mode there. the last leg of the run was brutal and just did not have the motivation.
